Actually to be fair, the Doctor did reject him as his assistant, so they're no more interracial than beforeSmileWink

Stage 2

Stage 2 and already were into the mountains. Rodriguez, Pliuschin and Nocentini are the 3-Star favourites - an unusual top 3 tips for a ProTour mountain stage!
i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/SportingNonsense/DFL%20Story/romandie2b.png

The early part is all about attrittion and we see that Savoldelli will not be a threat. Nocentini crashed very early on but although his Ag2r teammates did not drop back to help him, he made it back and looked fine.

Igor Anton had a badly timed pucnture when the pack seemed to be going faster, but he brought himself back very well.
i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/SportingNonsense/DFL%20Story/romandie3.png

As we reached the final mountain of the day there was a flurry of attacks from pretty much everyone - both Pliuschin and Perez made an attempt.
i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/SportingNonsense/DFL%20Story/romandie4.png

But the pack kept a high pace and noone was able to get away. Zaugg and Vila did have an advantage but a few riders stuck at the front of the peleton and did a tremendous job, particularly Charly Wegelius.
i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/SportingNonsense/DFL%20Story/romandie5.png

With no one clear, it was just about descending and sprinting it out. With 67 sprint, Pliuschin can do well and is right at the front as the sprint begins.
i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/SportingNonsense/DFL%20Story/romandie6.png

He leads into the final kilometre but Rodriguez is closing
i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/SportingNonsense/DFL%20Story/romandie7.png

And the Caisse rider comes through to take the stage
i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/SportingNonsense/DFL%20Story/romandie8.png

Pliuschin is 2nd, and Nocentini edges out Vicioso for 3rd. Unbelievably the Cyanide bookmakers actually got the top 3 absolutely spot on when listing the 3-star favourites! They even got it in the right order!

2nd place is not at all bad for Pliuschin. It gives him 2 ProTour points and means he is the new race leader!

A large 39-man group was led in by Alessandro Pettacchi 35 minutes down. The group had been led by T-Mobile for much of the stage, after all - every single T-Mobile rider is in there! Cavendish must be in awesome form for them to be so keen to look after him.
i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/SportingNonsense/DFL%20Story/romandie9.png
Manan was even further behind this group but still inside the time limit.

Stage 3

Its the only flat stage of the race, but Manan still wont make it with the peleton to the finish, this race is more about building race form for the Giro, not actually grabbing a result. Stevic will be our sprinter today.
i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/SportingNonsense/DFL%20Story/romandie10.png

With the sprint in full flow, its clear that Cavendish is not as good as T-Mobile hoped, he and Freire are on the wrong side of the road and not strong enough. Zabel seems to have forgotten that he isnt a Milram rider anymore as he leads out Petacchi and Stevic.
i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/SportingNonsense/DFL%20Story/romandie11.png

But its the riders besides the 2 elite sprinters who are stronger: Sacchi and Rovira
i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/SportingNonsense/DFL%20Story/romandie12.png

Wiesenhof havent scored any ProTour points yet this season, can Rovira not only get them off the mark but also take a win? He can!!
i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/SportingNonsense/DFL%20Story/romandie13.png

Rigoberto Uran has really excelled since coming to DFL. Last year his best ProTour results was the King of the Mountains jersey in Romandie, but this year he is currently placed 4th overall there and has also had 10th place in Amstel Gold and Fleche Wallone. He came to us at level 2 experience and has just now progressed to level 4.

Stage 4

i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/SportingNonsense/DFL%20Story/romandie15.png

Konovalovas went with the break that included Alessandro Petacchi
i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/SportingNonsense/DFL%20Story/romandie16.png

Konovalovas was the strongest of the breakaway, since he was the last to run out of energy - at 19km to go
i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/SportingNonsense/DFL%20Story/romandie17.png

Carlos Barredo kicked off the action as the decisive climb began. Uran, Perez and Pliuschin all tried to follow the moves
i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/SportingNonsense/DFL%20Story/romandie18.png

Barredo got a clear gap, but it didnt look like anyone else did
i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/SportingNonsense/DFL%20Story/romandie19.png

But infact, Voigt, Kreuziger, Moreau and Gil did hold a slight advantage. They joined forces with Barredo as Perez gave everything to try to catch them in
i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/SportingNonsense/DFL%20Story/romandie20.png

But Perez couldnt keep going forever and as he pulled off the front, the gap grew
i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/SportingNonsense/DFL%20Story/romandie21.png

Voigt piled on the pressure as the finish approached
i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/SportingNonsense/DFL%20Story/romandie22.png

And produces a gap, how does he do it???
i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/SportingNonsense/DFL%20Story/romandie23.png

Kreuziger and Gil pegged him back a little but it wasnt enough, Voigt takes the stage!
i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/SportingNonsense/DFL%20Story/romandie24.png

A fading Moreau clings on for 4th
i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/SportingNonsense/DFL%20Story/romandie25.png

Pliuschin hit the red in the final few hundred metres and was unable to do anything as the group split in 2

Well Pliushkin in still in it. He still can come back.

Well I think having Martha disproves the racist part of it.

Yup, so long as he doesnt lose any more ground, the time trial will suit him.

pheew ... now I'm up-to-date with this story...

Great job.
Very interesting as I play the PCM Spain as well and manage Team GLS. (Small danish team)
I also signed Pliushkin ... a good sign, I see :-)

Keep up the good work...

20k. Its the one which starts on a downhill and ends going up a hill. Tends to suit the climbers more than pure tters, so perfect for Pliuschin who can do both.

GP Herning

Although Nolf, Coyot and Hammond have tuned down their training and are not as strong as they were 3 weeks ago, they are expected to do well here in the final cobbled race of the spring. Im particularly keen to win since Mattan and Nolf had to settle for 2nd and 3rd here last year when Gorik Gardeyn outsprinted the pair

While I could do the destroy-all technique that worked in the Tro Bro Leon, it really isnt that interesting. So instead, Nolf and Coyot will race each other.

Coyot made his move first, attacking for a short bust to get a gap before riding away, with 90km to go.
i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/SportingNonsense/DFL%20Story/herning1.png

With 66km to go, its Nolf's turn. He has a 3-minute deficit to overturn
i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/SportingNonsense/DFL%20Story/herning2.png

Slowly but surely, Nolf closes in on Coyot and is nearly there on the last cobbled section, at 17km to go
i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/SportingNonsense/DFL%20Story/herning3.png

Nolf does catch Coyot and looks the best bet for victory now
i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/SportingNonsense/DFL%20Story/herning4.png

And this proves the case as Coyot cannot hang on and runs out of energy, he wont get 2nd place either since Casper and Grabsch are too close
i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/SportingNonsense/DFL%20Story/herning5.png

Nolf celebrates win #2 of the season. Next stop: Giro.
i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/SportingNonsense/DFL%20Story/herning6.png

Casper finishes 2nd, Grabsch 3rd and Coyot in 4th.
i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/SportingNonsense/DFL%20Story/herning7.png

Geraint Thomas finishes a strong 6th, just behind Kurt-Asle Arvesen, while Roger Hammond rides in in 7th.

Unfortunately, a picture of that entered into my head when I read that, and now I think that death may be the only respite from the emotional pain I am now feeling

Nice result there... I'm just guessing, but did you, ever so possibly, win the teams classification as well?

Good win. I think you can make up some of the time in the 20km tt. How good are you at tt. I used to really suck. But once I figured out how to do it I am really good now.
