The race is flat, apart from this bridge:
i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff272/SportingNonsense2/delta1.png

Stannard's break is inevitably caught and with 18km to go 3 riders attack. I am unable to chase and the rest of the peleton seem reluctant too. One of those 3 makes it to the finish:

Manan cant get round the Ubbink Syntec rider and settles for 3rd, having passed the 2 other late attackers close to the finish.

Roger Hammond has become a transfer target. Cyalogic made him the British Champ.

Ive had a couple more small races.

Firstly, a cobbled race, Halle - Ingooigem, Pliuschin is my leader but at 50 fitness points, cannot do much.

Team Ranking
Wiesenhof's Pollack and Wesemann seem to have been in form all year, I just hope Barloworld stay 3rd.
i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff272/SportingNonsense2/junrank2.png

Cyanide's Rider of the Month:
users.skynet.be/fa624895/Flags/IT.gif Danilo di Luca

For the 2nd month in a row, the Giro crossed into June for a couple of days so Cyalogic decided Di Luca deserved this award.

DFL Rider of the Month:
users.skynet.be/fa624895/Flags/MY.gif Anuar Manan

Tough one, Staff, Lloyd and Manan all won stuff while Pliuschin was strong in Luxembourg. I narrowed it down to Lloyd and Manan and for reasons that youll see shortly awarded it to Manan. He broke into the top 20 of the CT rankings after winning Stage 5 of the Tour of Belgium plus 3rd in Veenendaal and Delta and 4th in one of the American races.

Brit of the Month:
users.skynet.be/fa624895/Flags/UK.gif Daniel Lloyd

While I could have given it to Millar for winning a stage in the Euskal Bizkleta and coming 6th overall.. i didnt. Instead Dan Lloyd wins it (Haha, Bias!!) after victory in the HC category race Veenendaal - Veenendaal, plus 5th in Philadelphia, Lloyd rose a magnificent 155 places to 32nd in the rankings over the past month.

Look Ahead:
Qinghai Lake!!!! Go Lloydy Go!

TdF News
Karpets won the Tour de France prologue, level on time with Cancellara and Wiggins taking 3rd, 1 second down. A strong 4 man break evaded the peleton by 46 seconds and Klier won. Gutierrez Palacios 2nd, Gilbert 3rd and Devolder 4th. Gutierrez takes Yellow, keeping it at Caisse d'Epargne. Its bad news for Andy Schleck though, he lost nearly 2 minutes on clear and was today's last finisher. He is now 195th overall, just 14 seconds faster than lanterne rouge, Mr Bjorn 'Dopey' Leukemens.

Finally - ive made contract offers for 14 riders and am set to make HUGE offers for Millar and Wiggins, now that Addy has told me how to shorten their contracts to 2007 (Gotta be realistic since they both are leaving their teams after the 2007 season)

Ben Swift became DFL's first 2008 signing, after turning them down in January - opting for a fianl amateur season which has brought plenty of success.

The very annoying news though is that Martyn Maaskant turned down our offer, instead opting for the shitty Fondas team. Why the hell did he turn down the top team in the Continental tour to join the bottom team on the Continental tour instead?

A hilly french race which will be our team's last preperation race before flying to China for Qinghai Lake, Dan Lloyd leads here and aims for a top 10 and perhaps grabbing the CT lead back from Wiesenhof, who passed it thanks to Wesemann's 3rd in the Swiss National Champs.

After the break was caught, an attack went Sprick, Feillu (Surprsiingly not picked for Le Tour), Di Gregorio, Petilleau, Brouzes, Mangel and Lloyd. The lone brit amongst frenchmen. Bouygues' Sprick was the best and disappeaered into the distance, with the other 6 left to chase.

6 would become 5 though as Lloyd was dropped, you have to remember that his Hill stat is only 66.

Feillu looked like he could catch Sprick in the sprint, but Cyalogic stopped him from chasing (Cya-logic, or is it Bouygues-logic???). Its never nice to see Bouygues Telecom win something.

i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff272/SportingNonsense2/doubs.png

Lloyd clung on to 7th, and 12 ranking points - taking DFL to just 2 points behind Wiesenhof, but keeping ahead of Barloworld is of course my main aim. Disaster occured for Stannard as he crashed and could miss the flight to China.

Nuyens won Stage 3 to take Yellow and held on for it 2 days as Francisco Ventoso won twice in a row. Alejandro Valverde then won the stage to Autun before Jimmy Casper cheered up the frenchies with a sprint win. The first mountain stage was won by Valverde and Caisse continue their impressive performance with Pereiro coming 2nd. Valverde currently leads the GC by 1'10 over 2nd placed Andrea Kloden, Contador is 3rd.

Manan is brought as his last race for a while for experience points, and is in around 16th position as the sprint begins - unable to position himself. He salvages 5th as Vicioso wins. Wesemann takes 4th - When will he stop racing!!!!

An unlikely pairing of Arroyo and Fedrigo held off the climbers and Arroyo gave Caiss d'Epargne another stage win at Tignes. Valverde came in 3rd with Contador and extends his lead after Kloden lost a minute, and Contador is now 2nd - almost 2 minutes behind Valvpiti.

And with +5 form, this could be the best chance he gets, but I may need to work on my technique, starting to sprint from 1km just doesnt seem long enough. 3rd is still good though after a battle with Clarke.

He would only get dropped if I kept him in the break, so I pulled him back. 3 riders from that break looked to go all the way though.

No, that's not Manan, it's Lloyd. I did a late attack with him to try and get a position but he was soon passed and stopped trying since ranking points are only for 1st to 8th on a stage.

Stage 4 and we hit the mountains, although its a relatively easier challenge than the tough stage to Briancon that lies ahead for some riders over in France.
i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff272/SportingNonsense2/qingh7.png

Manan again goes with the break and takes the points again, i dont think he will win the Points jersey, this just gives me something to do - he has 52 mountain so isnt exactly gonna make it over the top easily.

Eventually, after the climb and a long descent a 93 man peleton pursues 2 last survivors. With 5km to go, Dan Lloyd repeats Stage 3 and attacks. And this could be promosing! GREEN MOMENT!

He passes the leader on the road, Schmidt and goes into the sprint with a good gap.
i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff272/SportingNonsense2/qingh8.png

And Lloyd wins! A Brit wins a Mountain Stage! DFL wins a mountain stage! (Heh, not really very mountainous but still, its a mountain rating, so a mountain stage it is).
i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff272/SportingNonsense2/qingh9.png

Schmidt is 2nd, but who is 3rd? Bileka too a slight advantage but then DFL's very own Rhys Pollock, who has just recently gained 70 Sprint, easily gets passed Bileka. Unfortunately, Klyuev had got lucky and was actually following Pollock. The russian took 3rd but a magnificent 4th for Pollock.

No attacks came on the climb and going over the top a group of 30 emerged, with Lloyd and Sulzberger amongst them. Not there were Bates or Klyuev the 2 riders above Lloyd in the GC. But Lloyd wouldnt be going into the race lead as Vicioso took 3rd in an intermediate sprint.

Come the sprint for the finish, Anza had the lead but doesnt sprint allowing Marten Tjalingii to win and take the leaders jersey.
