Stage 4

Another hilly stage
i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff272/SportingNonsense2/DFL/deutschland26.png

The action will come on the hill so lets go straight to it. Evans was the first to attack and as others scrambled across to join him, only Menchov and Frank Schleck made the junction as they closed in on the last breakaway rider, ElkHaus's Buffaz
i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff272/SportingNonsense2/DFL/deutschland27.png

Evans, Schleck and Menchov went over the top and continued to push down the descent
i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff272/SportingNonsense2/DFL/deutschland28.png

They have a gap over Rogers and Rovira, with a further gap on LL Sanchez, Karpets, Van den Broeck, and Popovych
i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff272/SportingNonsense2/DFL/deutschland29.png

Evans leads out the sprint - Rovira could be dangerous if he catches the group fast enough
i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff272/SportingNonsense2/DFL/deutschland30.png

But its definately going to be between the front 3, Evans is 1 sprint stat better than Schleck but Frank has waited as long as he can before making his move
i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff272/SportingNonsense2/DFL/deutschland31.png

Frank Schleck wins, with Evans 2nd and doing something he couldnt do in the Tour - taking the race lead
i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff272/SportingNonsense2/DFL/deutschland32.png

Bennati took 10th as he led in the peleton, with Hagen taking 12th - the best he could hope for on a -5 day

Stage 5

The Rettenbachferner always holds a big influence over the Deutschland Tour and it has arrived today
i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff272/SportingNonsense2/DFL/deutschland34.png

Midway through the stage, Popovych crashed. Astana send their whole team back to help
i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff272/SportingNonsense2/DFL/deutschland35.png
He will make it back, but only after 30kms of chasing.

So Popovych may be disadvantaged for the big climb as Devolder starts the attacks
i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff272/SportingNonsense2/DFL/deutschland36.png

Frank Schleck has a little gap over the other attackers
i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff272/SportingNonsense2/DFL/deutschland37.png

But Karpets closes it. Schleck, Karpets, Evans, Menchov, Devolder and Kvasina are the lead group
i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff272/SportingNonsense2/DFL/deutschland38.png

Rogers waited before attacking, starting the day just 7 seconds behind Evans he could be a real threat, but he waited too long!
i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff272/SportingNonsense2/DFL/deutschland39.png

Popovych also waited but he at least was able to keep away from the peleton after his attack, unlike Rogers
i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff272/SportingNonsense2/DFL/deutschland40.png

2km to the summit, Evans hits the front
i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff272/SportingNonsense2/DFL/deutschland41.png

He is piling the pressure on the other riders
i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff272/SportingNonsense2/DFL/deutschland42.png

He has a gap!
i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff272/SportingNonsense2/DFL/deutschland43.png

Sprinting towards the finish, will Schleck or Karpets be able to catch him?
i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff272/SportingNonsense2/DFL/deutschland44.png

No they will not. Evans at last takes a win in a ProTour race! He couldnt do it in 2007 for Predictor or 2008 for Rabobank, but he has done it now for DFL.

Extreme is the limit ....

I was joking, mocking the fact that someone posts those comments in every story that isn't at extreme

Of course there is the thing where you can somehow change exactly how hard or easy the levels are in Local.cdb.

Yeah, I don't normally bother with them =) I guess sarcasm is more fun if you don't have to warn people

Stage 7

A 3 man break went away and most teams seemed happy to let them stay, but not us. First Manan and Coyot and later Ignatiev pegged the gap back from 13 minutes and 110km to go to 5 minutes with 30km to go.
i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff272/SportingNonsense2/DFL/deutschland49.png

Other teams then took over and the break were caught. There was to be plenty of jostling at the buildup to the sprint

Hagen moved to the right as he looked for space
i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff272/SportingNonsense2/DFL/deutschland51.png

But instead he found absolutely nowhere to go
i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff272/SportingNonsense2/DFL/deutschland52.png

With acres of space on the left, Forero charged home to win, with Hagen 3rd

Great team work, pity about getting boxed in though. I always seem to muck up the chase of breaks if it relys on me. Though thats normally because there are 12 riders in those breaks...rather than 3!

Still, good going Wink

Look forward to seeing who else you sign for the super DFL team, and seeing the new DFL mini-maillot on the 2010 team presentation Pfft
