Great riding SNSmile

The route changes almost everytime in the second year if you are playing with PCMdaily V2, at least at my PCMPfft

Having cancelled our participations in Tro Bro Leon and the GLS Express Cup, this is set to be DFL's final cobbled outing of the season.

Gaudin attacks with 37km to go
i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/SportingNonsense/DFL2/scheldeprijs1.png

He does well but is caught with 16km still to go, with the lead group much smaller.
i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/SportingNonsense/DFL2/scheldeprijs2.png

Leif Hoste launches an immediate counterattack
i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/SportingNonsense/DFL2/scheldeprijs3.png

Hoste is the stronger of 3 attackers, the other 2 being Nolf and Gilbert
i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/SportingNonsense/DFL2/scheldeprijs4.png

Nolf desperately tries to close down Hoste
i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/SportingNonsense/DFL2/scheldeprijs5.png

But will have to rely on the sprint
i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/SportingNonsense/DFL2/scheldeprijs6.png

Nolf does catch up with Hoste - but not be enough. Hoste wins, Nolf 2nd.

Would you complain if I won it with Contador instead?

content.ll-0.com/maxxis/maxxis_e_a000786031.JPG

For the past couple of years the Tour de Georgia has been Saunier Duval territory. Cobo and Gil were 2nd and 3rd overall in 2007 (Having been beaten by surprise winner Tiann Kannemeyer) and in 2008 they took the top 3 spots on the GC with Ortega, Plaza and Gil.
Although we have never ridden here, Ignatiev has and took 4th overall last season. The russian won't be riding here but has given the team plenty of advice.

Team:
Alberto Contador - Leader - Still building form for the Giro, this is his main stage race preperation since he only wants to ride the Giro in May, thus ruling out Romandie.
David de la Fuente - Should be a strong help for Contador as he prepares for Romandie and then Catalunya next month.
Saul Raisin - I had to bring him here even though his target of the year is the Tour de France. Hopefully he will do well.
Rest of the team: Ivan Stevic, Bernard Sulzberger and Justo Tenorio

Stage 1 and 2

Tomas Vaitkus proved to be the best sprinter in the field winning the opening too stages.

Stage 3

Its the first stage that will shape the GC today
i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/SportingNonsense/DFL2/georgia2.png

And with just the final hill to go, there are 13 riders left to battle it out
i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/SportingNonsense/DFL2/georgia3.png
Contador, De la Fuente (DFL), Arvesen (Not shown in pic), Vandevelde (CSC), Schumacher (Slipstream), Moos (BMC), George (Discovery Channel), Arroyo, Gil, Simoni, Cheula, Champion, Mejias (Slipstream)

Yeh, its a shame - he lost 6 minutes on the first flat stage but has been getting stronger since. Ive got a plan for him for the Brasstown Bald stage though, that could come out well.

Good luck for the Queen stage Grin

Stage 5

Its the queen stage.
i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/SportingNonsense/DFL2/georgia9.png

4 riders attacked but all went solo. Vicente Peiró led, Gert Dockx was next, then Benjamin Brooks and finally Sönke Kohl.

BMC's Peiró was given a huge lead, peaking at 16 minutes and still over 10 minutes as the Brasstown Bald began at 40km to go.
i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/SportingNonsense/DFL2/georgia10.png

Saul Raisin's GC hopes ended after Stage 1 when he lost 5 minutes and he started the stage he was 76th Overall, 10'14 behind Contador. He has a strong daily form of +3 though and attacks right at the foot of the Brasstown Bald.
i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/SportingNonsense/DFL2/georgia11.png

I didnt predict the response he got though - all the other big GC names attacked so Contador (Daily form -4) was also forced to go.
i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/SportingNonsense/DFL2/georgia12.png

Simoni and a Symmetrics rider held a gap over Contador after the attacks
i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/SportingNonsense/DFL2/georgia13.png

But the Spaniard effortlessly closed it down in what he plans to be his only 'big' effort on the stage.
i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/SportingNonsense/DFL2/georgia14.png

Why will it be his only big effort? Because already 2 minutes ahead of this group is Saul Raisin!
i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/SportingNonsense/DFL2/georgia15.png

Raisin passes Peiró halfway up the climb
i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/SportingNonsense/DFL2/georgia16.png

Vandevelde joins Contador's group whose gap to Raisin remains at around 2 minutes
i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/SportingNonsense/DFL2/georgia17.png

Plenty of locals are out to cheer on Raisin
i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/SportingNonsense/DFL2/georgia18.png

And he's going to make it! Victory for Saul Raisin!
i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/SportingNonsense/DFL2/georgia19.png

Contador takes 2nd, and gains a little bit of time on his rivals
