Time Trial

With no Cancellara, and no Zabriskie (Infact, no USA team at all), this race is wide open. Reigning champion Botero is also missing.
i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/SportingNonsense/DFL2/worlds2.png

Stefan Schumacher starts first in his first race since the Tour of California (No injuries, he just hasnt raced) but he is nearly caught by Jose Ivan Gutierrez who sets the first benchmark.
i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/SportingNonsense/DFL2/worlds3.png

Vladimir Gusev beat Gutierrez by 13 seconds after the likes of Schar, Quinziato, Vaugrenard and Posthuma had failed to keep up with their good starts.
i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/SportingNonsense/DFL2/worlds4.png

David Millar on the other hand was imrpoving the further into the time trial he went and smashed Gusev's time by 47 seconds
i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/SportingNonsense/DFL2/worlds5.png

But Brajkovic was soon to finish, having led at both check points. But he was 10 seconds slower than Millar
i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/SportingNonsense/DFL2/worlds6.png

Cornu took 3rd, 12 seconds behind Millar
i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/SportingNonsense/DFL2/worlds7.png

But theres a new lead time at the 2nd checkpoint, faster than anyone - its Bradley Wiggins! Wiggins even passes Popovych with 2km to go
i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/SportingNonsense/DFL2/worlds8.png

Would he beat Millar? Does it matter - whatever happens, DFL will have the World TT champion next season.

great job getting the ITT Rainbows next year, now for the RR Rainbow (just don't get it with Hammond)

Maybe a stupid question but here it is: Why isn't Fabien Cancellara participating ? This should be one of his goals for the season Grin

Alex Efimkin was the only DFL member of the 10 man breakaway
i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/SportingNonsense/DFL2/worlds10.png
M. Lloyd, Kohl, Moncoutie, Steensen, Kloden, Mestre, Duque, Tjalingii and Gustov are also there.

Cavendish and Dan Lloyd are dropped from the peleton with over 100km to go - Stannard too, just ahead of them
i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/SportingNonsense/DFL2/worlds11.png

i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/SportingNonsense/DFL2/worlds12.png
Wegelius and Blythe let go with 45km to go, leaving just Millar in the peleton when the break is caught.

As the break is caught, Morabito attacks - countered by Uran and Konovalovas!
i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/SportingNonsense/DFL2/worlds13.png

Ballan also attacks and goes past the trio
i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/SportingNonsense/DFL2/worlds14.png

Uran and Konovalovas cant seem to catch Ballan, despite dropping Morabito
i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/SportingNonsense/DFL2/worlds15.png

And Uran eventually drops Konovalovas but it wont be enough
i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/SportingNonsense/DFL2/worlds16.png

Ballan is the new world champion!
i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/SportingNonsense/DFL2/worlds17.png

A great result for Uran to take 2nd - looking good ahead of Lombardia.
i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/SportingNonsense/DFL2/worlds18.png

An equally impressive result for Konovalovas in 3rd.
i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/SportingNonsense/DFL2/worlds19.png

Who else takes 4th but Edvald Boasson Hagen! Its a DFL 2-3-4. (If I had been controlling them it would have been 1-2-3 WinkPfft ).

2-3-4 are the worst places you could get rigth? Pfft
anyway, it's still a great result when you look at the fact they where AI controlled. it means your riders are way too good

2-3-4 is still a great result though, I wasnt sure what to expect beforehand.

I dont actually think the AI target the World Championships at the form peak. I was in Hannes changing some World Championships settings for the Road Race (Getting Britain more riders, replacing Poland with Lithuania, and putting DFL riders in some of the lineup they deserved to be in) and none of the big names are really in much form - and theyve all raced too much so their race day form is poor.

Im very optimistic with Uran for Lombardia though - he wasnt quite peaked at the Worlds so will still get stronger, and its a race that was won by Matteo Carrarra last year Shock So im hoping for no competition and an easy win Pfft

Like I said no USA, I think it is a British conspiracyRolling Eyes

SportingNonsense
The problem with USA is that they take part in the transfers and buy players (American or not) which triggers some setting somewhere making them unable to take part in the Worlds.
