Think you have a very good shot at getting minimum three of those goals with Beltran capable of giving the Win goal as well!

Those look like some very reasonable goal choices!

Yes, went more conservative this year after seeing the real Beltran last year. Win goal is always a difficult one, but winning on San Luca would be awesome Grin

In theory, yes. I also didn't expect the puncheur field to be as deep as it turned out to be, so I'll be happy with any goal achieved.

I hope so. To be honest I'd most want to get the team standings goals, as that would put me far away from relegation. But I'd probably need to get the other 4 just to have a chance at a top 15 standings Pfft

Glad that we've gotten away from Beltran to be honest - now I can cheer for him to get you those goals instead of hating that he's beating out my guys to get them Pfft

Sorry if it was confusing - just meant that he beat my guys a lot and I'm sure that included in his goal races Pfft Though with how bad we are at goals I'm sure he did beat us in a goal race of ours at some point too Pfft

Race Calendar 1/4

January

09.01Down Under Classic1.HC
13.01 - 18.01Tour Down Under2.HC
27.01 - 29.01Hong Kong ChallengeC2.1

For the 3rd year in a row since we are in PCT we start the season in the traditional opener at the Down Under Classic. We would love to finish top 10 there for a 3rd time also. We stay in Australia for the Tour Down Under before we finish the month with a trip to Hong Kong where we haven't raced since 2018.

February

04.02Omloop Het Nieuwsblad1.HC
13.02Classique du Grand-Duché1.PT
22.02 - 24.02Tour of Ukraine2.HC

February is a much lighter month of racing and takes place just in Europe. We make a mandatory appearance at the cobble classic of Omloop Het Nieuwsblad. Later we will go to Luxembourg for our first wildcard race where we give some riders PT experience. Finally we go to Ukraine where we hope to score some minor points, but otherwise also give more experience to our younger riders.

March

01.03 - 04.03Barbados Cycling Festival2.HC
06.03 - 11.03Vuelta al Pais Vasco2.HC
08.03 - 12.03Circulo de JuarezC2.1
23.03Strade Bianche1.HC
23.03 - 28.03Tour of EritreaC2.1
29.03E3 Prijs1.HC

After a combined 6 races in January and February we race another 6 in the busier month of March. Starting in Barbados from where we have nice memories, we hope Lahcen Saber can deliver a good result this time. Same can be said with Pais Vasco. Then we have two races we want to improve on from last year. Saber will again go to Mexico, while Beltran will tackle the white roads in Tuscany. To end the month we make first time appearances in Eritrea and E3 Prijs.

You can expect more installments like this as the season progresses and the race calendar becomes revealed. This is part 1 of 4.

team representative and general manager of Cedevita

A three-peat of top 10s in Adelaide would surely be a positive start to the season Grin

Martin Hvastija: Without Lahcen Saber at this race we will be relying on the engines of our rouleurs. Gasper, Matic, Miha and Goran all have the freedom to attack in any part of the race. The other 4 riders will be in a support role, with Ardila and Buitrago here to gain some valuable experience.

Interesting decision to send a pure rouleur squad without Saber. Hopefully, the team will understand team orders and are active in the final!

In hindsight I might have made a mistake with the new AI, but Katrasnik and others will get their chances across the season. Hopefully it pans out.

I'm with knockout here, but if anyone can upset the odds and the sprinters, it is Katrasnik!

Gorazd Stangelj: The first important race for us and Eduard Beltran. We have almost our full puncheur squad here with only David Gaudu missing out. We want to create a hard race for Eddy in both road stages so that he can attack and gain time on the other favourites.

I see Hong Kong mainly as a stage race for Pluchkin/Zalgiris duo than a puncheurs race but hope the hilly stages will be selective enough for the Beltrans et al. Particularly the final climb on the third stage could have a perfect length for you.

If anything that my last year's experience thouht me is that a strong puncheur with decent TT stat could win the race. Which is why I believe that Beltran has a chance

Before I wouldn't have called Beltran "heavy artillery", but he did show he still has some ammo in his legs Pfft
Your chances for a good result also look quite better than zero Smile
