Magnus Backstedt was the only rider who could keep up with Thomas and they would form a leading duo


Behind them are Jacobs, O'Grady and Breschel. It seems that as this is in Denmark, Breschel gets the role of B&O cobbles leader instead of E3 Prijs winner Tom Veelers.


Despite struggling at times to work together, Backstedt and Thomas would not be caught


Backstedt lead out what should be a tight sprint - both have the same sprint stat of 74


But Thomas is strong as he moves alongside the veteran Swede with 1km to go


Geraint Thomas wins! Backstedt takes 2nd.


In a tight battle for 3rd, Matti Breschel outsprints Stuart O'Grady

Pieter Jacobs sat up and settled for 5th.
