Note : this problem will be fixed with the first official patch (no date yet)
The game crashes whenever your virtual memory is full. The memory used by the game keeps increasing steadily for as long as the game is running.
Two gigabytes of RAM are not enough on their own to have a stable game.
The only solution to play before the patch is to increase the amount of virtual memory. Either you need to create a swap file, either you need to set its size bigger than it is.
Note : the maximum swap file size for 32-bits systems is 4 Gb.
Make sure you know what you are doing before modifying such a parameter, do not hold anyone else than yourself responsible in case of unexpected problem.
To modify your swap file : Right click on My Computer desktop icon > system properties > advanced settings > Performances > Settings > Advanced > Virtual Memory > Modify
There you can set the desired size. If your have a lot of free space on your hard drive, go for 4096 Mb. A tip to determin the amount is to know that you'll probably need at least 4 Gb of virtual memory (Ram + Swapfile), make the calculation yourself.
-----------
Problem with installating the DL-version:
Make sure the two files you downloaded are named as following :
- Setup-PCM2007-focus-online-hw-1.0.0.0.exe
- Setup-PCM2007-focus-online-hw-1.0.0.0-1a.bin
If not, rename them exactly like that, then it should work.
------------
Starforce Key Issue:
Some people manage to install the game, but when launching it, the Starforce protection blocks it. When trying to go further, an activation key will be asked, that key is absent from PM.
The cause of that isue is the presence of virtual drives emulation softwares, such as Daemon Tools. This can also come from a burning software which has that function, as Alcohol 120%.
You need to totally uninstall those softwares, then reboot your PC. Then, normally, the game should run.
------------
The riders are too dark
Some people feel the riders are too tanned in PCM 2007, compared to the former versions.
There is a solution for those who want to change it : replace the existing cycliste_ref and cycliste_ref_d files by the following ones (PCM 2006 ones) :
https://rapidshare.com/files/38409425/...t.zip.html
Put the two files from the pack here :
C:\Program Files\Cyanide\Pro Cycling Manager 2007\CM_Textures\cycliste
Thanks to lvlichel for the pack.

good to see that they're trying to solve the problems
but I'm still mortified at the first one... I've had that problem forever in PCM06, despite having a 4Gb swap file
only now they're trying to fix it...

There is no pictures of the Equipment, and i can't find talents, cause there are no areas, only square purple boxes, and when the mouse touch them, the game is shutting down?

As Addy said, you're lucky No, seriously, they make the game crash. You will have to wait for new versions which actually work. |
