Crash during 3D-gameplay
The Stig
So i'm having some issues playing stages in PCM 15. I can't play more than 2 stages (sometimes not even 1!) in a row without my pc freezing/crashing; Sound and Screen just freezes and the only thing a can do is force-stopping the computer..

My guess would be that my pc is overheating, so is there anything i can do to better this issue? Maybe buying a disc version will take some stress of my cpu? If you have any other idea as to what is causing the freezing, please do leave a comment.

Any help would be much appreciated

Why should the disk version reduce the heat?

I cannot give you any tips regarding overheating because you did not provide any information about your computer. Notebook or PC? Did you check the temperatures? What are the temperatures of the GPU and the CPU? Does it crash with other games as well? and so on...

Its an Asus X52JC laptop. Specs:

Core i5 460M/2,53 GHz
NVIDIA GeForce 310M / Intel HD Graphics - 1 GB DDR3 SDRAM
RAM 4 GB

The freezing happens at cpu-temps of 90 - 95 degrees celsius. The PC also freezes while running LOL but not Civ V.

Hope this helps Smile

That certainly sounds high enough to cause such a freeze. Overheating is common for laptops, especially when playing hardware taxing games. Google laptop cooling for potential solutions. Try the simple, free ideas first.

Normally the freezes happen because the GPU is overheating but in a Notebook both might be close together and therefore heating up each other.

Put your laptop in the fridge = problem solved.

The simplest solution is to make sure the air can flow around it. For example raise it using bottle caps, lego bricks or similar small stuff. Also don't play on your lap.

Thank you very much for the suggestions, Hopefully one of them will work Wink
