How many days of racing do your riders generally have in a season? Do you have different amounts for your leaders and your domestiques?
Is (50) the threshold that you do not want your young riders to go past?
What is a young rider? Under 25? or just someone under (4) for experience? |

a young rider is under 25, maybe up to 27 even
and 50 is definatley NOT the threshold for your young riders
if they race over 30/35 days a season, then their potential weakens, and they won't be able to get as good as they would've done

in every sport, ruling authorities define "young rider" as anyone under 23 or 24 (depends on the sport)
as for other riders, after 40 days, the maximum race fitness they can achieve starts to decrease

Holy crap!! 100 days of racing!! I have a rider at 46 in May. His racing fitness is still at 20. Is that a bug, since it is supposed to decline after 40 racing days.
In real life, how many days of racing do the riders usually have? |

Using the race list on Mark Cavendish's website, he has raced about 60-70 days this season.

yup, a few guys every year do all 3. Rasmussen last year, Sastre as well. this year Piepoli. Brandt rode and finished all 3
guys who don't work at the front (usually sprinters) do more races. Boonen does over 80 days every year.

Well, it seems to have grown into an urban myth or can anyone really confirm this effect.
I have never noticed any difference between young talents, whether they've completed 20 or 60 races per season. I've had Hagen on 3 different teams doing between 30-70 reason per season and he turned out almost the same in year 3 no matter what.

i've just followed the urban myth
i've never got far enough to experience whether it made any difference

my furthest career = Ubbink, PPDB, 5/6 April, 1st season

It was Aerts who finished all three GTs, and he was the only one this year. Only Ongarato was the other who started all, but he gave up Le Tour

yes, you're right. you'd be amazed how many times I say Brandt when I'm thinking Aerts
I shouldn't...Aerts was a near-top rider once...

I usually don't get bored until my team is basically unbeatable - then it starts to suck.
