Since there's quite a few Americans here, and since some of them were young in the 90s I guess there's some possibility that someone here actually knows about my favourite band The Gin Blossoms.
Gin Blossoms is a rock band from the start / mid 90s. They hit the charts in 1993 with songs such as "Hey Jealousy" and "Found Out About You". These songs were written by the band's guitarist, Doug Hopkins, who had severe alcohol problems. Due to all his alcohol troubles and instability he was eventually kicked out of the band, and just when his songs got popular he committed suicide.
The band went on, though, and later released a new album. If someone of you have seen "How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days" you probably know the song "Follow You Down" which is on the sound track of the movie and which is from the new album which was released in 1996.
The band broke up and started a lot of solo projects until they began playing together again for good in 2002. In 2006, they released their come back album which is about just as good as the previous albums. Even though they hadn't released an album in 10 years, the unique GB-sound was still there.
This site was opened in November, 2006 -- but in fact, I wasn't in Denmark at that point of time. I was in the USA -- why? For one purpose only - to experience my favourite band live So in some way, there's a connection between this site and Gin Blossoms
So, I don't know if any knows them, or if I managed to make anyone interested, but here's some of their songs:
Found Out About You
Hey Jealousy
Follow You Down (not the official video, though)
Til I Hear It From You
As Long As It Matters
... and if you made it this far: You can hear the entire new album at the album's mini site: https://thegins.com/. My personal favourites from that album are "Come On Hard", "Learning the Hard Way" and "Long Time Gone".
Sorry about all the rambling
