More stages are being made by the community, but until they are made, and someone includes them in a database, I'm afraid that you can't use more variants.
Unless you edit the variant files to make them work in your db. |

you have to
- add the stage files in cm_stage folder
- add the descr file in the variant subfolder
- edit the rules file in the variant subfolder in order to add the added variant to the rotation |

Plus restarting your career or if you want to continue your career then you have to copy the new lines into Dyn_variant_stage like described in several threads here. |

also editing gene_i_date in dyn_variant_date table of your savegame if your career has passed 1st january 2011.
gene_i_date represents the date in which routes should change next. by default at the beginning of the career is set to 03/01/2011 so that routes change on that date.
then the game automatically changes year after year the date to january next year.
if you are on e.g. september 2014 you should set gene_i_date to 03/01/2015 otherwise routes won't change. |

hi, i have a question regarding the variants, i have finished the first year in pcm 2010 but next season was the same so i downloaded the latest patch 1.0.4.02, and the pcm daily expansion pack, pcm daily expansion pack 1030, and 1030 to V2.7z. i can now see the variant folder in the cm-stages which wasnt there before. my question is can i continue my career (saved already) with the new variants or do i have to start over again. thanks in advance.

You can continue your career with a little trick. The variants are automatically integrated when you start a career.
I don`t have the time now to explain it, have to go to University again, but I explained it somewhere in this forum.
Also patch 1.0.4.2 doesn`t help you. 1.0.4.1. runs better.
If I understood you right then you played one season and then you installed the PCM Daily? This won`t work.
If you install a new database then you also have to start a new career.
In short:
Starting a career with at least patch 1.0.3.0 then you can add variants with a trick into your savegame.
Installing a new DB makes it necessary to start a new career.

If you ever had installed any other DB, then you better uninstall the game completely first.
You should install the DB in this order:
- Install game
- Install patch 1.0.4.1
- Install DB
As far as I know the installation of the DB is very well explained in the thread. If it needed to copy files, then yes, you NEED to replace existing files. |

thanks roturn, u been alot of help. i know i been asking alot but i am new to this game and its kinda hard with all the technical stuff, i just have two more questions.
1- i downloaded the maxdb 2010, that is the db i used on my saved game now i wanna add the variants cause that db has non. so can i add the variants only that are present on the pcm daily expansion 2. i mean can i just copy the cm_stage folder in the pcm expansion2 and paste it in my game folder, without using the pcm db, that way i will only add the variants but keep using the same db that i used in the saved game. if so, my 2nd question will be how can i add the variants to an already started season.i tried looking throw the forum i found some stuff but i didnt understand so it would be of great help if you could help me out. again thanks alot |

Not sure how much you know about working with the Full Editor V4. It`S quite easy actually but if you never worked with it, it might sound very complicate.
Extract the PCM Daily somewhere on your harddisk.
1. Copy CM_Stages of PCM Daily (all stages and the variant folder) into CM_Stages of your Max DB game folder
2. Start a new career to have a savegame with the new DYN_Variant_stage including the new variant
3. Use the full editor v4 and import the new save game and copy the whole table DYN_Variant_Stage (You don`t need the new career any longer, can be deleted)
4. Open your save game with the full editor v4 and paste this whole table into the one of your save game
5. You have to overwrite some parts. (All existing variants in your save will be overwritten plus the new variant is there)
6. Then save, export a new db and continue this as your save game. Nothing changed but the variant is now there as you have written in your rules
You have lots of stages in the CM_Stages you don`t use then, but it won`t have any negative effect. An alternative is to open all descr. files and check what stages you just need, but this takes more time and you might miss some, what will causes crashes. |

It`s in 08 download section.
But backup your savegame before editing the first time. Otherwise it might happen that you destroy it. |
