Back out on flatter roads today as we transition between the big mountain stages. There is a bit of complications on the road to Fafe as the sprinters will be faffing around with a very late sprint. The sprint area itself has a bit of a wall before the final 750m or so too. Early on there is also a nasty little climb as well which will test a breakaway.

A very small breakaway today as well, some riders a bit leggy after the mountains I guess. The three brave (or stupid!) men are Allonca (Santander), Petrov (Benfica) and Pancake (Cillit Bang).

Petrov is the strongest rider here, but Pancake having been in a break and gaining KOM points before is interested in KOM points and attacks to gain the full booty here.

Not that the Cillit Bang leader has any chance of taking that competition, Pellizotti leads with 58 points well clear of Lopez Garcia (37), Siutsou (36), Eltink (31), Serpa (30) and Delage (28).

Behind there are two more points scoring positions on offer and Siutsou gobbles up 4th place and Delgado takes the 5th place.

Petrov eases his way back to Pancake, Allonca of course has been dropped and quickly goes backwards to the peleton. These two look good with 30km to go their lead is 4.40.

They roll through the first of the late sprint primes Petrov first and then Pancake ahead of Forster (UBS) who sprints out of the pack. The sprint primes are closing the gap fairly quickly and suddenly the momentum for the front group disappears. By the final sprint prime it is the sprinters who have reeled the breakaway in and CJ Sutton sprints to take the prime ahead of Galdos and Veikkenan.

Most of the other sprinters are concentrating on the final sprint, but the trains do not seem to be forming as they usually do with this undulating finish. With 2600 metres to go we can see the UBS colours of Max Richeze in about 4th place. He has Van Avermart (Bimbo Nutella) and Guerao (Santander) on his wheel, the winner will surely come from these three.

As mentioned previously there is a nasty kick before the final 700 or so metres and Theo Eltink has jumped forward looking to take advantage. Meanwhile Richeze is leading the two other sprinters and what's this Jordi Grau is inside of him (to the left going over the house).

Richeze is starting to fade on this incline and Eltink is eeking out a good advantage on the sprinters, Grau is also making up ground.

Pellizotti obviously did not fancy today but Eltink took his chances partially making up for his fade yesterday.
