Where yesterdayâ€™s stage was almost climbing for half of the distance, todays is the direct opposite! 94 kilometers are to be raced, starting at the mountain the riders finished at yesterday a long descent takes them to an intermediate sprint some kilometers before the finishing line. From there itâ€™s flat towards the finish line. This stage really should come down to a sprint.

You must say itâ€™s quite surprising seeing so many fans at the top of the mountain only to see the riders start the stage! Cyclingâ€™s reputation is clearly growing in Eritrea and Africa. It should be a fast stage and you can almost see the riders smiling at the start, looking forward to all the descending today.

31 kilometers to go and the escapees face a hill! You must wonder if theyâ€™ve taken the wrong turn earlier, but no, itâ€™s actually a hill thatâ€™s on todayâ€™s race map. Itâ€™s well hidden though and only a few hundred meters long. The breakawayâ€™s lead is down to 2â€™15.

The peloton catches the escapees with 7.800 meters to go, and theyâ€™ve also been able to distance the chase group with another 40 seconds, as theyâ€™re now two minutes ahead of them. Things are not looking good for any of the riders behind.
