Tour de San Luis - Stage 4
Mresuperstar
i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/San%20Luis/Stage%204/Profile.jpg

i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/ing_zps78b9af5e.png Zabriskie (ING), i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/bps_zps2b426596.png Cornu (BPost), i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/hol_zpsfe2f7500.png Dempster (Hollistar),
i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/ing_zps78b9af5e.png Van Winden (ING), and i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/prp_zps2240497e.png Plaza (Prio-Porto) makeup the favourites for today's crucial stage against the clock.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/San%20Luis/Stage%204/1.jpg

First rider out of the gate is i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/rep_zps8fe99b28.png Anaya (Repsol), and the wind is hollering
with huge wind gusts. Just perfect for a time trial... Pfft

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/San%20Luis/Stage%204/2.jpg

i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/CT/bcr_zps86f2c872.png Colex, Mexican ITT Champ, from BCR gives us the first real time measurement of the course with a 14'14" at the first check and the best time so far that the finish with a 27'18".

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/San%20Luis/Stage%204/3.jpg

But that lasts for three riders before i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/CT/aip_zps544721ca.png Irvine (Adira) goes 13'51" and 26'38" at the finish.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/San%20Luis/Stage%204/4.jpg

It's not long before we get to see a rider truly amazing in this discipline,
i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/hol_zpsfe2f7500.png Zakkari Dempster (Hollistar). However he comes to the checkpoint
with the same time as Irvine.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/San%20Luis/Stage%204/5.jpg

And yet again at the finish, the same time. Either Dempster is having an off day or Irvine just had the ride of his life. Only time well tell.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/San%20Luis/Stage%204/6.jpg

The next rider to make a impact is i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/mti_zps330e0e2d.png Haijun Ma (Metinvest), who beats Irvine and Dempster's time at the checkpoint by 2 seconds.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/San%20Luis/Stage%204/7.jpg

And then ups that to 5 seconds by the finish. Giving us a new leader in the clubhouse. Now he just has to hold onto it for 63 more riders.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/San%20Luis/Stage%204/8.jpg

And that was never going to happen as first i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/amx_zps91aadbbd.png Gretsch (AMEX) beats his time by 17 seconds.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/San%20Luis/Stage%204/9.jpg

And then i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/ing_zps78b9af5e.png Van Vinden (ING) proves to the crowd why he was a pre-stage favourite going 4 seconds faster then Gretsch.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/San%20Luis/Stage%204/10.jpg

And now here comes Captain America! i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/ing_zps78b9af5e.png Big Dave Zabriskie (ING) isn't messing around by setting the fast time at the checkpoint by 19 seconds over teammate Van Winden!

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/San%20Luis/Stage%204/11.jpg

And he hasn't done there, he picks it up another gear to overtake Van Winden by 35 seconds at the finish! The leader's jersey is in his sights now after coming in down just 24 seconds on Greipel.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/San%20Luis/Stage%204/12.jpg

i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/ubi_zps47ce5481.png Elijzen (UPC) puts together a nice ride to slot in right behind Gretsch, but that is still 55" seconds back of Big Z.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/San%20Luis/Stage%204/13.jpg

i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/bps_zps2b426596.png Cornu (BPost) tries to challenge Zabriskie as he comes in 2nd at the checkpoint but remains in 2nd at the finish as well, 28 seconds to slow.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/San%20Luis/Stage%204/14.jpg

The last decent threat against Zabriskie is i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/prp_zps2240497e.png Plaza (Prio),

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/San%20Luis/Stage%204/15.jpg

But really he wasn't much of a threat at all,
47 seconds to slow which puts him 5th as of now.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/San%20Luis/Stage%204/16.jpg

Then come the guys that have picked up bonus seconds, which includes a good ride by i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/src_zps90f6d964.png Gerdemann (Sram), (+52 Seconds)

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/San%20Luis/Stage%204/17.jpg

i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/rbc_zps9a8b3bfb.png Durasek (Alstom) (+1'15),

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/San%20Luis/Stage%204/18.jpg

Yesterday's winner and 3rd overall i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/hol_zpsfe2f7500.png Izagirre (Hollistar) (+59 Seconds).

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/San%20Luis/Stage%204/19.jpg

And we of course we have to mention i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/wwe_zpsb6c72e16.png Greipel and i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/ubi_zps47ce5481.png Lorenzetto, as they drop down the GC quite hard with their TT abilities not up to par with the likes of Zabriskie. In the end, it was the best man that absolutely destroyed the competition that gets to put on the leader's jersey.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/San%20Luis/Stage%204/20.jpg

i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/ing_zps78b9af5e.png David Zabriskie! i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/bps_zps2b426596.png Cornu gets 2nd, and 2nd overall.
And i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/ing_zps78b9af5e.png Van Winden gets 3rd, and 3rd overall.

Now the question remains, can the TT guys hold onto their winnings
past tomorrow's hilly stage?
