Tour de San Luis - Stage 2
Mresuperstar
i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/San%20Luis/Stage%202/Profile.jpg

Hot and humid for the start of stage 2. The favourites are the same as yesterday, i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/prp_zps2240497e.png Avelino, i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/wwe_zpsb6c72e16.png Greipel, and i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/hol_zpsfe2f7500.png Davis.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/San%20Luis/Stage%202/1.jpg

After waiting a few kilometers the race finally see more than a 1 man attack,
i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/bin_zps9ee3c16e.png Montenegro (Bintang)
i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/CT/bcr_zps86f2c872.png Slagter (BCR)
i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/CT/vtf_zps1d97281a.png Hansen (Vattenfall)
i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/trh_zpsd616c798.png Van Aelbroeck (Rothaus)
and yesterday's TV star i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/CT/ekc_zps98eb3bbc.png Kaupas (Ekspla)

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/San%20Luis/Stage%202/2.jpg

But i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/wwe_zpsb6c72e16.png Astarloza is setting a hard pace so i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/bin_zps9ee3c16e.png Montenegro and i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/CT/ekc_zps98eb3bbc.png Kaupas are brought back. This allows for more attacks to follow though,
i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/CT/aip_zps544721ca.png Dennis (Adira)
i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/CT/ekc_zps98eb3bbc.png Mockus (Ekspla)
i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/bin_zps9ee3c16e.png Seledkov (Bintang)

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/San%20Luis/Stage%202/3.jpg

But all 6 of them are dragged back by i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/ubi_zps47ce5481.png UPC, i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/bin_zps9ee3c16e.png Seledkov sets off again.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/San%20Luis/Stage%202/4.jpg

Wanting to join the Bintang man are,
i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/rbc_zps9a8b3bfb.png Rollin (Alstom)
i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/CT/vtf_zps1d97281a.png Ebsen (Vattenfall)
and the man the doesn't quit i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/CT/ekc_zps98eb3bbc.png Kaupas.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/San%20Luis/Stage%202/5.jpg

The chemistry clicks right away and the peloton doesn't see any threat in chasing this group as the gap grows quickly to 3 minutes.

The first sprint point comes with 66kms to go, the breakaway is holding their lead around 4'30". i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/rbc_zps9a8b3bfb.png Rollin is clearly the best sprinter in the group but i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/CT/ekc_zps98eb3bbc.png Kaupas could use the bonus seconds to inch closer to the leader's jersey.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/San%20Luis/Stage%202/7.jpg

And it is i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/rbc_zps9a8b3bfb.png Rollin clearly winning the sprint with i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/bin_zps9ee3c16e.png Seledkov 2nd and i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/CT/vtf_zps1d97281a.png Ebsen 3rd. So a missed opportunity for i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/CT/ekc_zps98eb3bbc.png Kaupas.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/San%20Luis/Stage%202/8.jpg

Quickly after the sprint comes the 1st and only King of the Mountain checkpoint of the day and surprising i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/bin_zps9ee3c16e.png Seledkov is the only one that tries.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/San%20Luis/Stage%202/9.jpg

Realizing this he sits up and takes his 6 points and jersey for tomorrow's stage. Rollin gets 4 points for 2nd and Ebsen gets 2 points for rolling over in 3rd. Again Kaupas is left with nothing.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/San%20Luis/Stage%202/10.jpg

Carry on to the 2nd and final sprint point today, and you get the same result as the first one. Rollin, Seledkov, Ebsen, and Kaupas. 45kms to go, 3 minute lead.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/San%20Luis/Stage%202/11.jpg

The peloton is being controlled by i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/ubi_zps47ce5481.png UPC and i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/amx_zps91aadbbd.png AMEX for the most part. And with the breakaway taking away the checkpoints it will be interesting to see how i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/prp_zps2240497e.png Avelino and i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/wwe_zpsb6c72e16.png Greipel preform since they didn't waste some of their energy unlike yesterday.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/San%20Luis/Stage%202/12.jpg

10kms left now and i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/wwe_zpsb6c72e16.png WWE is looking to Smackdown the breakaway.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/San%20Luis/Stage%202/13.jpg

And with a tag-team effort with i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/amx_zps91aadbbd.png AMEX they do just that with 6kms to go.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/San%20Luis/Stage%202/14.jpg

Now with the breakaway caught it's an American Showdown,
i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/wwe_zpsb6c72e16.png WWE Vs. i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/amx_zps91aadbbd.png AMEX.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/San%20Luis/Stage%202/15.jpg

i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/wwe_zpsb6c72e16.png WWE controls the left side of the road with, Paulinho, Jeandesbosz, Pineau, and Greipel. With i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/hol_zpsfe2f7500.png Aguilar (Hollistar), i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/CT/bcr_zps86f2c872.png Cano (BCR), and i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/hol_zpsfe2f7500.png Davis (Hollistar) linking onto the back.

While i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/amx_zps91aadbbd.png AMEX puts their train on the right with, Kurth, Keough, and Kupfernagel. i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/prp_zps2240497e.png Avelino and i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/bps_zps2b426596.png Feillu tag along with their train. And the race leader you may ask,

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/San%20Luis/Stage%202/16.jpg

i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/ubi_zps47ce5481.png Lorenzetto is stuck in traffic about 20 riders back!

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/San%20Luis/Stage%202/17.jpg

i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/CT/bcr_zps86f2c872.png Cano switches over the AMEX train with 4kms to go, witch allows i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/hol_zpsfe2f7500.png Davis to rejoin Aguilar's wheel.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/San%20Luis/Stage%202/18.jpg

Both Paulinho and Aguilar pull off shortly after, giving AMEX the leading hand.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/San%20Luis/Stage%202/19.jpg

A narrow turn forces the two trains to slow up a bit and allows more sprinters to connect on including Lorenzetto who gets on the back of AMEX's long line.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/San%20Luis/Stage%202/20.jpg

Just in time for Keough to start the sprint which catches Kupfernagel a little bit off guard as Jake opens a small cushion between their wheels.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/San%20Luis/Stage%202/21.jpg

But Kupfernagel is quick to recover, Keough is the leaving the WWE train in the dust!

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/San%20Luis/Stage%202/22.jpg

Kupfernagel makes his move with 1,100 meters to go. Avelino goes at the same time. Greipel has a lot of ground to makeup.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/San%20Luis/Stage%202/23.jpg

After the great leadout by Keough, Kupfernagel starts to slip from the lead. Avelino, Feillu, and Greipel are all now looking to go by.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/San%20Luis/Stage%202/24.jpg

It's a 3-way race - Avelino, Feillu, and Greipel.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/San%20Luis/Stage%202/25.jpg

Greipel! Even after the slow start it looks the WWE train was the way to go as Aguilar and Davis followup Greipel to take 2nd and 4th. With Feillu and Avelino getting 3rd and 5th.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/San%20Luis/Stage%202/26.jpg

Bazajev and Lorenzetto come up short to the favourites today, getting 6th and 7th. 8th and the last daily stage point goes to CT sprinter Artur Gajek. And Kupfernagel drifts all the way back to 9th after it seemed like he had the win in the bag.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/San%20Luis/Stage%202/27.jpg

And even worst news for Lorenzetto after he just could get his legs turning fast enough, he will have to give up his jersey to Greipel since Andre picked up those bonus seconds yesterday.
