Flat stage today and again Bos is the favourite but it is a very long stage so it will be touch and go as to whether he can hold on in the peleton. Duque, Van Heerden, Ventoso, Corioni and Casteñada will be fighting for the win as well.

A breakaway hasn't fully formed by the first sprint but Vansevenant takes the points ahead of Ongarato and Mironov.

About 5kms later a breakaway has formed properly...

Ongarato, Flens, Clesen, Marichal, Bodnar, Le Mevel, Vansevenant and Mironov are in the front group. Ulanowski, Olman, Van de Walle are just behind them, but won't make contact.

The breakaway reach the 2nd sprint and Mironov wins it ahead of Ongarato and Clesen. The gap at that point, with 50kms left, is down to 3'40. The breakaway could make it.

With 20kms left the gap is at 1'30 so the front group has every chance of making it to the finish ahead of the peleton.

Or not, with 9kms left they are caught and the peleton will fight for the win. Theo Bos is still in the peleton and has Ventoso's wheel!

With 3kms left, Van Heerden (wearing the green jersey due to simming) has chosen Fofonov's wheel, which isn't the best idea especially since Ventoso is on his wheel and Bos on Ventoso's. Castañeda has taken Bos' wheel.

With 1km to go Van Heerden is still in the lead but Ventoso is coming up alongside him. Bos seems to have faded completely, the length of the stage must have taken it out of him.

Van Heerden hangs on for the win! A very strong sprint from him, considering he had a horrible wheel at the start of the sprint.
