On the long descent from the 2nd KoM though. Theres a crash just behind the race leader...
Who else but Robert Gesink?!
He is guided back to the peloton. But injured or not? Time will tell.

Pinot
As you can see, former KoM leader Pinot was to join the break later in the stage. He is well of the KoM lead now, but Skujins isnt. Scoring 44 today, he is only 4 points behind Kruopis. The Lithuanian will keep the lead though.
More crashes see Diggle and Berthou lose out and onto the main climb of the day the break is caught. Pinot and Betancourt hold out the longest, but are caught with 6km still to climb - and Van Garderen attacking.
The World Champion is blocked though, so it is Kashechkin whose attack gets clear first
Trofimov, Spilak and Sinkewitz bridge up
Chavanel rides Gesink, Van Garderen, Keinath and Anza up to them
The group is soon up to 21, with Talabardon, Sicard, Schumacher, Flugel, Siutsou, Iglinski, Pauwels, Rogers, Reus, Pinot, Ivars and Zabriskie
Its not all 21 together for long, splitting up into various groups, Kashechkin and Gesink leading the way
Spilak joins them, moving away from Trofimov, Sinkewitz, Sicard, Keinath, Van Garderen and Chavanel. Talabardon, Iglinski and Schumacher look to join them.
Sinkewitz puts in a move to try to get back to the leaders, Trofimov follows
Sinkewitz doesnt make it, Trofimov does, as Kashechkin leads over the top
Sinkewitz makes it up in the descent, while Van Garderen, Chavanel, Sicard and Keinath also do, closing down a 30 second gap
40 seconds behind at 5km to go are Talabardon, Schumacher and Iglinski. Theres no pace up front though. 2kms later, theyve caught up too
They need to be careful. A further group of 11 are now only 50 seconds behind - and in here are some strong time trialists in Zabriskie, Rogers and Reus
The front group does finally pick up the pace though, as Kashechkin leads off the uphill sprint
Sinkewitz cant match him, but Gesink charges up alongside
Now its Gesink's turn to be chase. Trofimov and Spilak are closing
Gesink holds on to take the win! The earlier crash clearly had no effect
With the bonus seconds for 3rd though, Trofimov takes the race lead. Kashechkin and Sinkewitz are the same time as the front 3. Iglinski in 6th and those behind him lose 26 seconds.
Velits comes later at 1'18, before the TTers group at 1'32. Pozzato did nothing, and is at 3'50
