Stage Favourites:

Meyer,

Forero,

Guillen,

Matthews &

Drapac.
Surely the last 'certain' sprint stage of this race.

Sørensen (best placed @ 1'06),

Wohler,

Bush,

Lebris &

Kern would make the break today.

Wohler would claim the most KOM points on the day, 14, however, after being out in his third break

Bush would make sure he would be in the polka dots for another day.

Team ASDA-Savers push on the pace, hoping to enter stage 5 with the race lead. With 6 KM to go we are all back together when the peloton splits down to 75 riders.

Fletcher - Garneau push on the pace with the final beckoning.

Liu (11
th in GC),

Awang &

Sinner would be amongst the biggest names dropped. Some would make it back to the peloton, but they would by no means contest the sprint for victory today.
300 meters to go.
In a hard rouleur finish

Meyer strikes out early. Forgetting domestiques, the cloest challengers on the road look to be:

Forero,

Makino,

Nikolaev,

Schachmann,

Stannard,

Haas and

Zoidl. A real mix up, neigh on impossible to put them in any kind of order.

Meyer leads put can he hold off the challengers? The most prominent being from the might of the pro-conti teams.
50 meters to go.
Only three are in contention for this one.

Meyer marginally leads, but

Makino and

Nikolaev are coming up fast from behind.

Compal-Merida take stage 4!

Makino came around

Meyer in the dying meters for a memorable win by a bike length, he is having a great tour here. A another strong showing from

Nikolaev rounds out the podium.

Kohler, on good form in Australia, finishes fourth with

Haas finishing fifth, perhaps an indicator he will show well tomorrow?

Stannard holds the GC lead going into the decisive stage.

Meyer and

Makino move onto the GC podium, with the former moving into the points lead with

Geschke nowhere to be seen today, saving energy for stage 5 perhaps?
