It's not exactly the largest field we have here at Vuelta al Tachira. The weather's great, though - and 35 degrees may even be too much for the riders.
Anyway ... of the 47 riders that we have here, Martinez, Rincon, Manarelli, Anuawar and Radolcha seem to be ones to look out for in the sprint stages, including today's 110 km almost completely flat stage.
Soon after the start of the stage, the drama appeared as the peloton of 47 riders turned into 46. Rodas, team lader of the Red Bull team crashed, and seemingly, the radios in Venezuela didn't work - none of his team mates dropped back to help him. Therefore, it took a while for him to regain contact, but he did succeed eventually.
Other than that, the riders didn't seem interested in delivering more action until the sprint. With no attacks, this was definitely going to be a battle for the sprinters. Therefore, we fast-forward to the sprint - Nizzolo took the lead with Veilleux, Gottfried, Martinez, Radolcha, Machado and Didier behind him. On the other side of the road, Red Bull had tried setting up a train for Anuawar, but had failed to position itself at the front. Same with YouTube - Twitter which were riding for Barclay.
With 1.000 metres to go, it was looking good for Bbox, having both Veilleux and Gottfried at the front. Martinez, though, was up there as well with Radolcha and Machado a little further behind.
And it's Martinez who claims Quiksilver's first victory!
