Vuelta al Tachira - Stage 1
SportingNonsense
The 2010 management game season starts here!

It promises to be exciting, and 7 of the 10 teams here are making their debuts in the game.

Todays circuit is 10 laps of 11km. And with nearly 2 of those laps done, we have our first attack!
i646.photobucket.com/albums/uu189/DailyManGame2010/CTC1/tachira2.jpg

Indonesian Robert Wijaya is on the move, and it looks like Christian Vande Velde is following him
i646.photobucket.com/albums/uu189/DailyManGame2010/CTC1/tachira3.jpg

They work together, get a gap, but their lead does not go above 3'20 at all
i646.photobucket.com/albums/uu189/DailyManGame2010/CTC1/tachira4.jpg

The chase is strong - the sprinter's teams are not going to throw away the opportunity for the first victory of the season
i646.photobucket.com/albums/uu189/DailyManGame2010/CTC1/tachira5.jpg

And with 25km to go, it is game over for the breakaway
i646.photobucket.com/albums/uu189/DailyManGame2010/CTC1/tachira6.jpg

Santander's Galparsoso leads with 1 lap to go, hoping Perez Arrieta is at the front the next team the group hits this point
i646.photobucket.com/albums/uu189/DailyManGame2010/CTC1/tachira7.jpg

Crash! 6km to go and Kirk O'Bee has the dubious honour. Also going down is the Control team's Jonathan Tiernan-Locke
i646.photobucket.com/albums/uu189/DailyManGame2010/CTC1/tachira8.jpg

Back to the front and while it looked like a free for all, Marcel Sieberg powers to the front. Michael van Stayen is tucked in on his wheel, and Aitor Perez Arrieta is in a perfect position
i646.photobucket.com/albums/uu189/DailyManGame2010/CTC1/tachira9.jpg

Head down. Ready, steady, Go!
i646.photobucket.com/albums/uu189/DailyManGame2010/CTC1/tachira10.jpg

Not letting Sieberg have everything his own way, Tigran Korkotyan leads the Nespresso-Sportzone train
i646.photobucket.com/albums/uu189/DailyManGame2010/CTC1/tachira11.jpg

And either the Armenian is flying along the barriers - or Sieberg is going backwards!
i646.photobucket.com/albums/uu189/DailyManGame2010/CTC1/tachira12.jpg

But into the lead goes Raul Turano
i646.photobucket.com/albums/uu189/DailyManGame2010/CTC1/tachira13.jpg

Moving alongside him is Mauro Richeze. It seems he gave a polite 'No, thanks' to his teammates and decided not to join their train. Good choice it seems
i646.photobucket.com/albums/uu189/DailyManGame2010/CTC1/tachira14.jpg

Korkotyan pulls off to unleash Aguilar as he joins in a Nespresso and Starbucks domination at the front. The 2nd Starbucks rider is Carlos Alberto Ospina - and he isnt even a sprinter!
i646.photobucket.com/albums/uu189/DailyManGame2010/CTC1/tachira15.jpg

Here comes the line and Mauro Richeze is the first winner of the season!
i646.photobucket.com/albums/uu189/DailyManGame2010/CTC1/tachira16.jpg

He is free to dominate what is a South American domination here in Venezuela. Argentina 1-2. Uruguay 3, Colombia 4 and Brazil 6.
