Another stage rated as flat which does not tell the real story with a tough Trigo climb to ascend part of the way through the stage. Tomorrow is our first mountain top finish, but the riders are already feeling tired. Yamaha had a bittersweet day yesterday after taking the stage win, but their leader losing time. Andrew Bajadali makes his move early

With the sprint coming up soon though he is soon reeled in by the sprint trains. This time the sprinters will fight it out for the maximum points, Benfica having set up the sprint well will be happy to see Benitez take it.

Perhaps today the sprinters at the end will have a decent fight out for the stage win. Bajadali though has other ideas and goes back past the sprinters and ploughs on, on his own.

There's a voice deep inside of me...

The American is wearing the green points leader jersey however in reality he is second on that competition behind the race leader Saldarriaga. He will need to win the stage to take that jersey, more realistic is his KOM ambitions, he is also second in that one 10 points behind Saldarriaga.

Bajadali takes the 10 point prime at the top of the Trigo which brings him level with Saldarriaga who isn't trying for points. Behind though Iban Mayo and Grau battle for second place.

These two riders are just beginning to move up that classification, but it is Bajadali who will take the outright lead taking the second and final 4 point climb ahead of Mayo and Grau who reverse their order this time.

Having pocketed the KOM jersey, Bajadali now has the stage win on his mind as he rolls through the second sprint prime. Behind him again the sprinters battle, but this time it is Bimbo Nutella's Popov who takes second over Damian Martinez.

However there is a lack of impetus in the peleton, the sprinters teams perhaps noticing that their sprinters were not really getting up there on the stage previous. We also have a big montain shwodown on the next day, even so Bajadali keeps tapping out an impressive rhythm.

With 40km to go he has 5.21, but with 15km to go he still has 5 minutes. He rolls through the final sprint prime, with Benitez and Manarelli taking second and third and looks like taking Yamaha's second consecutive stage win.

He does fade at the end somewhat, but holds on to take a well earned stage win.

Back in the pack Stauff wins the sprint for second ahead of Van den Broeck who sneaks in a 8 second bonus.
