Stage 3 and we start to climb. It's not going to be decisive today but we will see if Uran is injured. Cuengo and Ricco are the other favourites.
Sprik, Matamoros and Morey lead through the first sprint, as a break is still to be fully established.
They are joinned by 8 others: Pecharroman, Ortega, Popov, Poels, Sagan, Caldeira, Di Gregorio, Signorini and Paterski.
Caldiera wins sprint 2, with the gap at 5 minutes and 65km to ride. Ortega and Paterski are next.
The first climb of the day hardly inspires fear, but Pecharroman utilises it to gain 6 points, Sprick and Di Gregorio follow him over.
The peloton are 5'30" back with 55km to go, so the break shouldn't get away. Keniath and Moreno now attack.
Ortega wins the sprint with 40km to go, aheadd of Di Gregorio and Popov. The climb up here has allowed Moreno and Keniath to cut the gap to 2'45", they have only a minute on the COLOmbia led peloton.
Costagli now attacks, as we tackle the biggest climb of the day.
He joins the Moreno group, as they catch Sagan and Caldiera
The pressure is too much for outr yellow jersey, who drops off the back.
Wow, it's tight for the KoM Points, Di gregorio just gets them ahead of Pecharroman and Sprick. Pecharroman is now in provisional polkadots.
The three chasers are 1'45" behind.
Martin attacks over the top as well now.
Ardila Cano and Abal lead the peloton over, 3 minutes behind the breakaway swith 30km to go.
it's bad news for Vesuvio though, as Uran is injured and drops off the back.
Danielson attacks after Martin.
Sony Ericsson are keeping up the pressure.
Martin catches the other 3 chasers, now just 1'30" in arrears.
He then immediately attacks them.
Taaramae attacks the bunch now, Colombia's domestiques have clearly tired themselves out after a day on the front.
Serpa now tries to make up for lost time.
Ardila, Gomez Merchante, Edet and Gadret now try to go clear.
Lopez Garcia, Delgado, Kunsin and Pedraza all attack.
Here we go, Cunego attacks, Hacecky and Medvedev follow him.
all 14 attackers come together
Serpa and Gadret try to reach the Moreno group
Behind them Cunego goes for another attack.
Cunego gets a small gap, Taaramae is trying to get back to him.
Cunego reaches, Serpa, gadret and the Moreno group.
In the peloton, almost 2 minutes behind Cunego, and 3 minutes from the break, Ricco attacks.
Gadret and Serpa attack again now, just as things start to come back together.
Cunego is not interested and just rides them both down.
Gadret leads the 17 chasers under 10km to go 40 seconds behind the break, but 1'18" ahead of Ricco.
5km to ride for the break, and their gap is up to a minute, can the hold on up this final climb?
Lopez Garcia leads some attacks.
Up front Poels attacks, Dan Martin is on his wheel. He really should win from here.
Lopez Garcia catches the break, with Hacecky, Ardila, Delgado, Pedraza, Henao, Medvedev and Serpa. Cunego is happy to lead the group behind.
With Ricco 40 seconds further back.
Martin is powering clear.
2.3km to go, Lopez Garcia, Henao Montoyo, Delgado, Medvedev and Serpa attack again to try to catch Martin.
Cunego pulls all the other attackers to the back of the break.
Henao Montoyo now leads the attack on Martin, can the Irishman hold on?
And Henao pulls alongside.
While Ricco has finally managed to get onto the back of this group.
Henao leads over the KoM point. but with 1km to go, which of these 2 have the sprint?
Pedraza is third, 25 seconds back.
Martin doesn't have the sprint.
Pedraza bursts clear in the sprint for third.
Henao Montoyo takes a home victory, timing his attack to perfection.
Martin comes 10 seconds later.
Pedraza is thind.
Serpa, Medvedev, Lopez Garcia, Delgado and Cunego are next at around 35 seconds.
Gomez Merchante and Machado are next
Riders are scattered all over the road.
Ricco crosses the line at 1'33". but it's entirely unclear where gaps will count.
So Heanao takes the lead, Cunego gains 43 seconds on Ricco, and it's set up nicely for the next few days.
