Stage 12 is the last mountain stage of the race. After this, there's only one hilly stage and two flat stages. So, today will be decisive. Pedraza leads by 4 seconds over Henao Montoya, will that change? Is Brajkovic also a contender as his disadvantage is not over two minutes?
De Ketele is the first in the first intermediate sprint. Ansons is second. Lai comes a little later to take third place in a group which also contains Cioni, Bruseghin and Lara Ruiz.
In the next mountain sprint, they are already together and De Ketele is the first, Lai is second and Ansons is third.
In the next intermediate, De Ketele, Cioni and Lara Ruiz are the first to pass, respectively.
Murgoitio, Riblon and Torres attack at 100km to go. The break has a ten minutes advantage.
Lara Ruiz, Ansons and Bruseghin make the podium in the last sprint.
Lai attacks to get the mountain points. Cioni and Bruseghin are second and third, respectively. Ansons was dropped in the short climb. Torres and Riblon pass here five minutes after, Murgoitio was also dropped from this group. The peloton, led by Sony Ericsson and Nespresso, has a disadvantage of 7'44 for the early break.
Lai, Lara Ruiz and De Ketele are the first to pass in the next mountain sprint.
The Asian, once again, attacks to be the first in the mountain sprint. Cioni and Bruseghin complete the top 3. Torres and Riblon come 2'16'' later. And minutes after the two chasers, comes the pack. Murgoitio and Ansons were already caught.
Riblon drops Torres. The gap between the French and the front is just one minute.
Tenorio, Danielson and Ortega attack while Torres is being caught.
None of them gets a gap and now it's time for Perez Cuapio and Henao Montoya to attack. Danielson follows.
Pedraza and Moreno attack too while the break riders are being caught one by one.
With 10km to go:
Henao Montoya.
+ 14'' - Perez Cuapio.
+ 24'' - Pedraza and Danielson.
+ 40'' - Ortega and Moreno.
+ 28'' - Peloton, containing the 3rd in the GC, Brajkovic.
1500 meters after, Brajkovic goes.
He catches Danielson, but Pedraza has gone!
With 5km to go, Henao Montoya already has an advantage of 30 seconds to the Mexican. Brajkovic has caught Pedraza and the duo is a minute after Henao Montoya. The yellow jersey can switch of owner!
Pedraza flies past Perez Cuapio and Brajkovic!
But Henao Montoya is already far away. The gap is more than one minute.
Victory for Henao Montoya! He will wear the yellow jersey tomorrow.
Also notable effort for Pedraza. He lost the jersey but tomorrow he might take it back.
Perez Cuapio and Brajkovic come shortly after. Brajkovic hangs to his 3rd place in the GC.
