Mountain stages are being anything but decisive. Will this hilly stage have some changes in the General Classification? It can as the last hill is very close from the finish.
Roux, Danacik, Costa and Médici attack right at the start.
They are countered by Gallego Martin, Montaño and, surprisingly, by the race leader, Danielson.
More riders attack, afterwards. Gabrovski, Dviri and Forero.
Danielson is the first in the intermediate sprint. The American wants to keep the Points Classification leadership. Montaño and Costa gain 4 and 2 points, respectively.
Separated by few kilometeres of the intermediate sprint, is the mountain sprint. Danacik takes it. Gallego Martin is second, and Montaño third.
Danielson's presence in the break is not appreciated and the escape is brought back by the peloton.
With 112km to go, we can see an established a BOTD. Roux is the first in the intermediate sprint. Danacik and Poulhiès complete the podium. The other escaping riders are: Bruseghin, Gabrovski, Costa, Dviri, Gallego Martin, Médici and Lai.
Roux refuses to be caught by the chasing group and by the mountain sprint and he already has an advantage of one minute to Danacik, other isolated rider. Lai is third over the top.
The Wii Racing rider is the first in the last intermediate sprint. 67km to go.
+ 1'12 - Danacik.
+ 38'' - Costa (third in the sprint), Brushegin, Gabrovski, Gallego Martin, Médici, Dviri, Poulhiès, Lai.
+ 5'32'' - Peloton, led by Kenda.
Roux continues his solo effort as he passes another mountain sprint in the first position. With 55km to go, he has an advantage of over 6 minutes and a half to the peloton. Danacik is the second and Gallego Martin is the third. Lai, Dviri, Poulhiès and Médici lost contact with the group during the uphill, but they would be join, shortly after.
Once again, the peloton is not organized, which means that Roux have great chances to win another stage. With 44km to go, the gap is 7 minutes.
With 25km to go, 6'00''. The peloton is now lead by Kenda, Starbucks and Nespresso.
Roux knows he has it on the bag. Danacik is already at three and a half minutes.
The chasing group will be caught, though. In spite of having dropped Poulhiès and Dviri, the gap for the peloton is less than one minute.
Ortega, Schumacher and Montaño are the first to attack on the final hill.
Schumacher quickly gains an advantage over the rest. The Sony Ericsson rider in the picture is Danacik who couldn't counter Schumacher's acceleration, maybe because he rode around 100km alone.
Brajkovic attacks!
Danielson, Efimkin, Moreno and Perez Cuapio quickly counter.
Henao Montoya, Pedraza and Albasini do the same a bit later.
While Roux is the first on the top. The advantage for the next chaser is over 2 minutes.
Schumacher is the second.
One minute later comes Efimkin...
In front of Danielson, Brajkovic, Moreno, Perez Cuapio, Henao Montoya and Pedraza.
Roux wins the stage in a solo effort! Second win in this race for the French.
And second 1-2 for Wii Racing as Schumacher is the second today.
Efimkin takes the third place.
Moreno wins the sprint for the fourth place.
