This year's Tour of California starts with a short prologue in Sacramento. Zabriskie has a great chance to take over the yellow jersey from the very first day of riding here, but with such a shot distance we might see some surprises today.

On paper, his main rivals for the GC, Phinney and Coppel, are also his main rivals for today's prologue. Cornu or Fiedler could also aim for a top 3 at least, if everything goes well for them

The American's main rival for the hilly stages, Edvald Boasson Hagen, also managed a great time, finishing 2 seconds faster than Tejay

But the Norwegian couldn't enjoy his lead for too long as the Starbucks leader, Andrei Amador, had an amazing time, 4 seconds faster than Hagen

Schadlich had a better time than his compatriot and team - mate, Gretsch, but it was enough only for a provisional second place, 4 seconds behind Amador

On paper, Cornu shouldn't have had any problems beating Amador's time, but he only got the same time as Schadlich and Hagen, 4 seconds behind the Starbucks rider

Another favorite, Jacob Fiedler, was even more slower, losing 5 seconds to Amador and one second to Cornu

Abal couldn't find his rhythm either, finish 7 seconds behind Amador's time

It looks that there's something happing with the wind that affects the riders starting the race now. And the next one to start is the French Champion Jerome Coppel!

Coppel managed to put in a very good fight against the wind, but he couldn't beat Amador's time either. Still he took a provisional second place, only one second behind the leader

Zabriskie knew what he had to do today and not even the wind could have stopped him. The World Champion became the virtual leader of the race, after beating Amador's time with 5 seconds!

Right behind him, Ruben Plaza, also came with a good performance. The Spaniard lost 6 seconds to the Wikipedia star

Kashechkin didn't have a great start as he lost 13 seconds to Zabriskie

Phinney fulfilled his team expectations and after finish his ride in 3 minutes and 17 seconds, he took the second place and he brought Wikipedia an amazing 1-2

Luis Leon Sanchez was the last big gun to start but he had no chance beating the Wikipedia riders, finishing 15 seconds behind Dave Z, who becomes the first leader of this year's Tour of California
