The toughest of two hilly stages and of course those puncheurs, who couldn't create any gaps on the first one (Dowsett, Skujins in particulat), will hope for a more selective stage today.

With 202km it's also the longest day here in Bulgaria, so race-leader Eichler and his team will have to work as good as they did two days ago.

The escaping group would be pulled back by the peloton 30km before finish, so just prior to the most challenging part of the stage.. and here go the first favorites now:

..but at the bottom of the final climb (5km length), the trio is reeled in by the peloton (still 120 riders)! So just 15km remaining in total..

12km to go and it's the same names trying to put the pressure on Eichler, this time joined by another top-favorite for this stage:

Dowsett with another acceleration 1km to the hilltop.. he definitely needs to gain a notable gap today, being already + 1'44" in the GC (just like most other GC-contenders)!

He would again take out the KoM-sprint and will be the new mountain-leader after this stage.. but more important, he managed to drop his former companions:

Dowsett goes for a 10km-solo-effort... with 6km remaining, he's 35" in the lead with the peloton (95 riders, including Eichler) trying to narrow this gap!

Also many sprinters (like GC's 2nd Guillén) managed to hang on here, so riders like Cobo, Cataldo or Skujins (yet leading the bunch into the final 5km) definitely missed a chance today..

..and as they enter the final km, Dowsett looks more and more in trouble to maintain his gap!

Van Poppel though holds off the remaining bunch, while Kashechkin moves forward with an impressive speed..

Quite surprising to see sprinters like i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/onc.png Guillén (2nd), i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/pbn.png Ulanowski (5th) or i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/mag.png Drujon (7th) still high in the GC.

Tomorrow's mountain-stage may just change that, but i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/jag.png Dowsett (9th) won't like the fact, that's still within the same area as all the better climbers here. Also, how will Eichler manage to survive those climbs?
