Another flat stage - but this time there is the added element of an uphill sprint to contend with.
Longo Borghini got in the early move, and that enabled him to take the pts at the first climb to retake the KoM jersey, even if his break was soon caught
Instead, Ulanowski got away with Ospina, Day and Butterfield in pursuit. Ospina made it across the gap at an intermediate sprint
They were together for 30km until the 2 hills groups together. Ulanowski cant climb, so Ospina went solo to take the points and close in to just 2 points behind Longo Borghini
Ospina's day ended with 23km to go, just before the last intermediate sprint - the sprints wanted it, and he sees Ciolek charge past him. Ponzi was also there, in the hope of grabbing bonus seconds over the German, but was blown off his wheel
Ciolek takes the sprint over Casper and Granjel Cabrera
We lose a sprinter with 10km to go, Giaux crashes
But by the sprint we seem to have lost all of them - a few kilometres ago they were at the front, but now there gone. Rojas Gil leads (but in this db, he is not a sprinter by any stretch)
We hit the climb as Gaywood takes the lead - but the yellow jersey looks to be right behind him
Still climbing, into the final km - its Luke Rowe who makes the first move past Gaywood
Rowe takes the lead, with Ciolek looking poised
But it seems Ciolek is not the man to worry about, he cant do anything, but Gaywood is coming back at Rowe
Casper's charge is coming too late, this will be a British stage win - but who? Its going to be very tight
Luke Rowe wins!
2nd for Gaywood, as Casper edges out Ciolek for 3rd, Westling and Swift also close.
