The last stage is classified as flat, but everyone strongly doubts the real sprinters will have a chance considering they didn't yesterday on a much easier profile.
So the real question will rather be if someone still has ambitions to improve his GC position, and of course whether Wegmann or Zaini will win this race! It might be decided on countback, so every position could count today.
Our break of the day consists ofsix riders.
Lövkvist
Morton
Koretzky
Pibernik
Atkins
Merino Criado
Koretzky already has 14 KoM points and uses the first two climbs to put himself to 30. Van der Schueren has to hope the break is caught early, otherwise his jersey might be gone.
We see the sprinter teams doing the work today, they still seem to believe in a miracle, especially as Lo Cicero and Kupfernagel are two of the weakest sprinters in the field when it comes to handling hills.
The intermediate sprints are not contested today.
The gap topped at 7 minutes on the flat, so there's no danger for Wegmann with Lövkvist nearly 11 minutes back on GC.
As Koretzky attacks towards the second-to-last KoM banner to take the lead, the bunch is only 3 minutes behind, but the pace is gentle as noone wants to drop their own sprinter while relaying.
The Cat.1 climb looks really hard, and it proves to be just that for the break. It shatters into pieces, and rather unsurprisingly, Lövkvist is the fastest uphill. Koretzky follows ahead of Morton.
Over the top, Lövkvist has about 30 seconds of advantage over Koretzky, with Merino Criado just being caught 2:40 back and everyone else alone in between.
In the downhill, of course, we get splits again!
Most sprinters are in the latter group, aside from the puncheurs with a good sprint, only Iglinski, Lorenzetto and Breschel keep themselves in the front part.
And who else but Gautier decides to drop back for no apparent reason?
This time, he fools Bellis as well who might just throw away a stage win and his points jersey here.
Lövkvist meanwhile keeps a steady advantage over Koretzky, who himself has another 40 seconds on Morton. The bunch doesn't seem to be too keen on catching any of them, which is obvious considering Sram could lose the GC win if Zaini takes more bonus seconds than Wegmann.
The slow speed means a second group of about 30 get back into the main field. Gautier and Bellis are lucky today, and a few sprinters are back as well.
Nevertheless, the speed was high enough to catch Pibernik and Atkins.
But it's not really important anyway, as Lövkvist turns onto the finish straight 3 minutes ahead.
Even Morton kept his lead over the peloton and could take the last seconds away from Zaini.
Lövkvist saves the race for Swedbank a bit with this win on the final day.
Wegmann leads the peloton into the last metres and could catch Morton, but Zaini is too far back to make any impact.
But Morton takes third behind Koretzky anyway.
Feillu gives BPost some much needed points as fourth, while Wegmann can celebrate a nice GC win and Sram go out with a bang.
