Tour du Faso - Stage 5
SportingNonsense
It's 4 stages in a row for Bouyges Telecom, 3 in a row for Roelandts. What is the rest of the field going to do to stop them?

i806.photobucket.com/albums/yy344/DailyManGame2011/az/fas5-1.jpg

Into the break go i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/CT/mtn_zps3dcc4d70.png Niyonshuti and i1248.photobucket.com/albums/hh498/Hiiam2412/Barclayskenmicro_zps52dc0de5.png Kangangi, not the first time either for them. MTN's Rwandan is apparantely not content with his current time bonus collection that sees him 5th overall.

i806.photobucket.com/albums/yy344/DailyManGame2011/az/fas5-2.jpg

With only 2 in the break, each time we approach an intermediate sprint ING slash the gap of the break as they ramp up the pace, before i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/ing_zps78b9af5e.png Kip jumps out to take 3rd.

i806.photobucket.com/albums/yy344/DailyManGame2011/az/fas5-3.jpg

So although Niyonshuti won all 3 sprints ahead of Kangani, this meant their lead did not ever grow to be large enough, and they are caught 'early' at 20km to go. And by 10km to go, both have been dropped by the peloton. Their advantageous GC positions thrown away.

i806.photobucket.com/albums/yy344/DailyManGame2011/az/fas5-4.jpg

Having done all that work to set up the intermediate sprints, and 6 points and seconds for Kip, ING have nothing left for the finish. The Dutch sprinter will play no part in the finish. A fellow Dutch sprinter meanwhile is at the front as i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/wwe_zpsb6c72e16.png Vingerling rides 2nd wheel in preparation for leading out i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/wwe_zpsb6c72e16.png Greipel.

i806.photobucket.com/albums/yy344/DailyManGame2011/az/fas5-5.jpg

Roelandts, Vaitkus, Hochmann, Schinker, Abdallah, Ghafari, Abakoumov and Stallaert follow.

And Vingerling now opens the sprint.

i806.photobucket.com/albums/yy344/DailyManGame2011/az/fas5-6.jpg

Vaitkus lets a gap go behinf Roelandts, ruining his strong positioning, as i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/wwe_zpsb6c72e16.png Greipel makes his move.

i806.photobucket.com/albums/yy344/DailyManGame2011/az/fas5-7.jpg

It is Greipel v i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/btc_zpse1fa0b09.png Roelandts for the stage, but i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/air_zps84b8db92.png Vaitkus is recovering behind and fighting for 3rd. i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/bps_zps2b426596.png Stallaert is another going well today.

i806.photobucket.com/albums/yy344/DailyManGame2011/az/fas5-8.jpg

Roelandts moves alongside Greipel...

i806.photobucket.com/albums/yy344/DailyManGame2011/az/fas5-9.jpg

And that is 4 stage wins now for i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/btc_zpse1fa0b09.png Jurgen Roelandts. Dominant.

i806.photobucket.com/albums/yy344/DailyManGame2011/az/fas5-10.jpg

Greipel is 2nd, just holding off Vaitkus, while i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/ubi_zps47ce5481.png Veelers came flying through from way back to take 5th, and more useful points for UPC.
