It's 4 stages in a row for Bouyges Telecom, 3 in a row for Roelandts. What is the rest of the field going to do to stop them?
Into the break go Niyonshuti and Kangangi, not the first time either for them. MTN's Rwandan is apparantely not content with his current time bonus collection that sees him 5th overall.
With only 2 in the break, each time we approach an intermediate sprint ING slash the gap of the break as they ramp up the pace, before Kip jumps out to take 3rd.
So although Niyonshuti won all 3 sprints ahead of Kangani, this meant their lead did not ever grow to be large enough, and they are caught 'early' at 20km to go. And by 10km to go, both have been dropped by the peloton. Their advantageous GC positions thrown away.
Having done all that work to set up the intermediate sprints, and 6 points and seconds for Kip, ING have nothing left for the finish. The Dutch sprinter will play no part in the finish. A fellow Dutch sprinter meanwhile is at the front as Vingerling rides 2nd wheel in preparation for leading out Greipel.
Roelandts, Vaitkus, Hochmann, Schinker, Abdallah, Ghafari, Abakoumov and Stallaert follow.
And Vingerling now opens the sprint.
Vaitkus lets a gap go behinf Roelandts, ruining his strong positioning, as Greipel makes his move.
It is Greipel v Roelandts for the stage, but Vaitkus is recovering behind and fighting for 3rd. Stallaert is another going well today.
Roelandts moves alongside Greipel...
And that is 4 stage wins now for Jurgen Roelandts. Dominant.
Greipel is 2nd, just holding off Vaitkus, while Veelers came flying through from way back to take 5th, and more useful points for UPC.
