Tour de Faso Stage 10
mb2612
i1184.photobucket.com/albums/z334/mb1226/Faso045.jpg
Flat as it gets again, but with Crocket now within striking distance of Vaitkus, this race is going right down to the wire. Mohs, Crocket and Vaitkus are favourites
i1184.photobucket.com/albums/z334/mb1226/Faso187.jpg

One man in the break, and who else could it be, but Tommersen.
i1184.photobucket.com/albums/z334/mb1226/Faso188.jpg

He gets sprint 1.
i1184.photobucket.com/albums/z334/mb1226/Faso189.jpg

Then comes Thwaites and Knees in the bunch
i1184.photobucket.com/albums/z334/mb1226/Faso190.jpg

Tommersen gets sprint 2 as we join the closing 6.5 km long circuit.
i1184.photobucket.com/albums/z334/mb1226/Faso191.jpg

Uugunbayar gets second this time, with Knees in third
i1184.photobucket.com/albums/z334/mb1226/Faso192.jpg

36km to go, and Teklit and Bragazzi join Tommersen, a minute ahead of the bunch.
i1184.photobucket.com/albums/z334/mb1226/Faso193.jpg

With the wind at 40km/h Pokerstars are trying to split the bunch, shutting down the break.
i1184.photobucket.com/albums/z334/mb1226/Faso194.jpg

Boucher, Nolf and Ingels lead through the final sprint.
i1184.photobucket.com/albums/z334/mb1226/Faso195.jpg

With 2 laps to go the bunch is still together, all the sprinters are sitting at the back of their own chain.
i1184.photobucket.com/albums/z334/mb1226/Faso196.jpg

Now 1 lap to go, Mohs, Vaitkus and Crocket are almost side by side. They are a bit far back for my liking though, although I guess it's just their team mates ahead.
i1184.photobucket.com/albums/z334/mb1226/Faso197.jpg

Round a corner Mohs (highlighted) gets the best line, pulling clear of Vaitkus, while Crocket falls even further back. Behind you can see a gap forming, the big looser is Van Wyk, who will lose his 7th place after falling.
i1184.photobucket.com/albums/z334/mb1226/Faso198.jpg

3.7km and Cyclevox have pulled their chain alongside Pokerstars. Crocket is nowhere, and now has to watch Blythe, who is on Mohs' wheel and could jump him in the overall.
i1184.photobucket.com/albums/z334/mb1226/Faso201.jpg

The sprint starts will Crocket still a way back.
i1184.photobucket.com/albums/z334/mb1226/Faso202.jpg

Engoulvent cuts in front of the Cyclevox train though, has this given Crocket a way back?
i1184.photobucket.com/albums/z334/mb1226/Faso203.jpg

Vaitkus has been completely blocked in, as Blythe cruises past him. And now here comes Crocket.
i1184.photobucket.com/albums/z334/mb1226/Faso204.jpg

Mohs takes the lead, with Blythe still following.
i1184.photobucket.com/albums/z334/mb1226/Faso205.jpg

Crocket is going for it with 1km to go, but Blythe and Mohs look to far ahead.
i1184.photobucket.com/albums/z334/mb1226/Faso206.jpg

Vaitkus is now flying down the right, as Mohs pulls further clear of Blythe.
i1184.photobucket.com/albums/z334/mb1226/Faso207.jpg

Vaitkus cruises past Crocket, overall victory is now assured.
i1184.photobucket.com/albums/z334/mb1226/Faso208.jpg

Mohs takes a very comfortable victory. Pokerstars finally got things going today.
i1184.photobucket.com/albums/z334/mb1226/Faso209.jpg

Vaitkus gets 2nd place, ahead of Blythe, with Crocket in 4th, meaning Crocket stays second overall.
i1184.photobucket.com/albums/z334/mb1226/Faso210.jpg

Thire and Minard are next, they have been excellent lead out men all year, although, in this race, not quite as good as those from Cyclevox,
i1184.photobucket.com/albums/z334/mb1226/Faso211.jpg

A group of 10 lose touch in the sprint, including McLay from the top 12.
i1184.photobucket.com/albums/z334/mb1226/Faso212.jpg

An excellent day for Vaitkus, who wins the overall, points and multiple stages. Rapha did excellently all tour, but one man loosing touch here and dropping out of the top ten will irritate the manager. Pokerstars have also redeemed themselves today.
