Welcome to stage 1 of the TOur de Faso, plenty on flat sprint stages ahead, so lets get the first one started. Mohs, Crocket and Van Loocke are favourites, but with just 7 non-control teams here, anyone could win.

Tommersen and De Bie are the only riders interested in the break. Tommersen wins the sprint.

Uugunbayar is the only sprinter interested in the two points for third.

Van Loocke beats Uugunbayar to the second sprint point, and the final 2 bonus seconds.

5km to go now, and Vaitkus has got his chain going on the left

Van Loocke, Blythe and Uugunbayar all follow him, but Puma have perfected the sprint this year, and they go up the right, Barrajo is on Crocket's wheel

2.5km to go and Puma are still in control. Pokerstars have done plenty of work today, but Mohs is nowhere.

Thire and Briggs start the final lead out. Borrajo has been blocked by a Puma domestique

Vaitkus and Crocket are playing a game of chicken at 50km/h. Neither wants to launch to early. Van Loocke has blinked and gone early, with Blythe following.
