There aren't much climbs in today's route, but in such a small race, any stage might be a chance to gain some time on the rest, especially when that stage has an uphill finish.


We start this report with a fall. Vangheel hits the ground. This is quite notorius, since he was a member of the breakaway group.

Allain, Cassidy, Esmaeli and Giaux are ahead of Vangheel and then Serrano and Wei that couldn't keep up.

Cassidy wins the last intermediate sprint. He had also won the second and he was the first over the first climb. 33kms to go and the peloton is at 5'30'', so it's well possible that this breakaway might make to the finish.

Allain gets dropped in the last climb, which was completed first by Esmaeli. The peloton is far, very far, 4 minutes behind.

After some attacks for the mountain points, Alarcon didn't return to the peloton and kept pushing. Behind, there's a chasing group with Astarloza, Kritsky and Van der Velde.

As Astarloza's group is being caught, there are new attacks. Pineau, Taaramae, López Garcia and Evans try to leave the peloton.

Every favourite bar Cataldo, Carrara and Samwel is attacking, which makes things difficult to follow. López Garcia, Van der Velde and Evans are the ones who put in the most powerful acceleration, as they already left Alarcon behind, like Taaramae did.

Back to the front, already in the last kilometer, Giaux is ahead of the other two breakaway partners.

Evans is the best of the favourites, coming right before López Garcia, Van der Velde and Taaramae.

Alarcon (who couldn't hold on with the attackers) and Samwel lead the peloton, trying to limit their losses to a dozen of riders, more or less.
