We start the race with a technical, 6 KM long, prologue. Time gaps will come into existence today, but with stage 3 on everyone's mind the GC won't be lost today.

Parra Bustamonte is the first off the ramp, in this field a decent man against the clock, and sets a time of 8'12. Will this time last long at the top as stage favourite,

Viktor Renäng, is one of the early starters?
Renäng goes quickest.

Viktor Renäng crushes the best time with a time of 7'58. We are just 5 riders down but it looks like we may already have the winner of the prologue.

Guozhang: the worst prologue rider in Man Game history?! The Chinese rider, to no one's surprise, would finish last today, however, his teammates would have some joy.

Lewis would finish 7
th on the stage and

Raisin, along with

Martinez, would be the best placed GC man at the end of the prologue.
Can Oba take the win?

Oba started the prologue as one of the top favourites, could he challenge the time of the Swede.....
.....
No!

Oba would finish '10 down at 8'08, good enough for 3
rd on the stage.
Solid times from Galdedo, Adamou, Hansen and Averin fill some of the top 10 places but the best time is never in doubt with one favourite to go.
That favourite is Chavanne.

Chavanne would put in a steller, great, time today ..... but would fall short of the stage win. Nevertheless, his time of 8'03 would be good enough for a stolid second place on the stage.
The Swede, being the only rider to finish under 8'00, takes the prologue for

Team Live Nation. They have got to be happy with that.
