Tour de Langkawi - Stage 7
SportingNonsense
A flat stage today and 9 men attacked. 5 of them were retired riders though. The intermediate sprints were uncontested, a retired rider won one, and Nicholas Roche won the other.

By 40km to go, only the 4 proper riders were left.

Roche, Pugaci, Alaluusua and Doi.

Back in the peleton, I was surprised to see 8th overall Panayotov had been dropped by the peleton. The bulgarian didnt crash or puncture, he just got dropped.

Back up front and with 30km to go, Nicholas Roche has ridden away from his companions

Roche faced a tough battle to stay infront as he kept a small gap into the final 10km. With 8.5km disaster struck for 2 riders as 4th Overall Rodrigues crashes leaving 3rd Overall Jimenez Sanchez with nowhere to go, so he crashes too.

Roche is caught with 6km to go as the sprint trains are being set up

The big 3 are Breschel, Haidar Anuawar and Huff and they are behind Maxime Bouet. But despite the frenchman's good TT skills, they are poorly positioned for the sprint as IrnBru B (For Gibb) and Procycling (For Blythe) are at the front.

Breschel, Haidar Anuawar and Huff have no chance. Can you pick a winner from this?

Abakoumov is sprinting the quickest but from too far back as Raul Turano moves into the lead
i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/SportingNonsense/MG09/langkawi45.png

And Abakoumov has to settle for 2nd as its a win for Raul Turano

Jimenez Sanchez and Rodrigues lose 2'40. The Spaniard slips from 3rd to 4th, and the Portugese rider from 4th to 6th as Stetina moves up to 3rd and Pluchkin is up to 5th.
