A stage for the sprinters? Well it is rated flat, but there are some lumps.
Two make the break today: Eeckhout and Paiani. The latter would make a meal of it and end the day in the polka dots.
Pineau could be seen attacking out the peloton, throughout the stage. He would pick up the scraps on offer!
Richeze fights for every point!
Here Richeze out-sprints Mezgec with 37 KM to go for the last intermediate sprint points on offer, he also won the sprint for 3rd early on in the stage.
Break are caught with 21 KM to go. As the junction is made Daspuntsag attacks out of the peloton. His attack, however, like that of Pineau, which was to follow, would end in vain.
2 KM!
The players:
Rosas Andriato Richeze Peeters Serebriakov Vanderaerden Mezgec King Moser Abdallah
Pozdnyakov, far left, is going the quickest though as he surges from behind.
And it is the Russian who marginally leads as we go under the flame rouge. Richeze, though, is up for this one. It looks like a clear fight between these two, when ....
.... a blistering acceleration sees Moser (far right) lead the race. The rest will be scrapping for the minor places today. Will they?
Yes they will!
Moser shows everyone else how to sprint today with that emphatic win. A clear margin back to the B-world champion (2nd) and Pozdnyakov (3rd).
The win sees the Generali - Kronenbourg 1664 rider move into the race lead, thanks to the bonus seconds.
- No export, the game's fault. No big names lose time.
