Today is a short day for the riders. Just 91km of totally flat riding. So top favourites of course the sprinters again. Can Mohs, Vantomme, Haedo or Napolitano get the win today or will we see another mid level sprinter to surprise them?


No real group until the first sprint. Vanspeybrouck wins ahead of McCarthy and Klier.

Also at the KoM there wasn`t a group yet as the peloton went pretty fast.
Tankink takes care for another KoM day for WWE. He wins ahead of Vanspeybrouck and Klier.

Finally a group seems to have formed.

So Rothaus, Pokerstars, CalGiant and Unicredit with their top sprinters not in this group as also Trilux with race leader Haussler.

So there have been enough teams interested in bringing the group back. The gap never really was over 2min today.

But just like all other riders ahead Beppu and Li are caught as last with 20km to go.
No way the sprinter teams would allow anything else today.

Rothaus again with 6 riders in this phase. All-In for Vantomme to bring him the first win this season. Also Pokerstars has some riders to support Mohs, while Haussler, Napolitano and Haedo are hanging on these two.

Bad luck for i1215.photobucket.com/albums/cc512/ANFreeman/Jersey%20Sprites/unicredit.png Vandborg. The Dane had high ambitions for his home race and aimed a top10 here. But with 17km to go today he punctured and isn`t coming back.

Iglinski and Baumann still ahead of Vantomme. Again pretty early the other helpers leave the train. All other riders hang on this train now.

Iglinski goes out of the lead and immediately Baumann starts the sprint while Vantomme is waiting a bit with 1,8km to go.

Croket and Haussler are coming on the right and also Vantomme is starting the sprint now, while Baumann already reached his max speed.

But the sprinters who waited longer had more success. It`s Mohs winning todays stage ahead of Drujon, Napolitano and Heado. Vantomme as 5th again fails by having the strongest team in the end.
Haussler keeps the lead and it will be interesting how much time he will lose in tomorrows time trial.
