Stage 3 is upon us and although it is rated hilly it is fairly similar to the previous two stages. Exppect plenty of attacks though as many people will be looking to get time on the last real hills of the race. As such favourites today are Monfort, Claes and Kessiakoff
There is driving wind and rain today, yet everyone is raring to go and we have lots of early attacks
Gavazzi, Dumoulin, Verbist is the order at the first climb
The break is set up by the second climb, Selander, Brandle, Pacheo and Bozic lead, behind them, in dribs and drabs are Seledkov, Verbist, Pfannberger, Talbott, Porte and Stevenson, all of whom are well clear of the peleton
Seledkov, Verbist and Pfannberger have made it up to the leaders by the next climb, and Seledkov takes maximum points, Verbist and Selander next
80km to go and Maaskant, Lobato and Nepomnyachsniy attack, however the peleton is in chase mode so they don't last long
Pacheo, bozic Selander is the order at the sprint with 55km to go, however the peleton are just 2'30" back so they will probably settle it amoungst themselves
Seledkov leads over the final categorised climb, Pacheo and Verbist are next.
5 riders attack the peleton: Dempster, Gasperotto, Vorganov, Clement and Kruopis
Unfortunately Kennaugh fell, so the whole 100% Me team drop back, both pendleton's time triallers are with them
Bozic wins the sprint ahead of Verbist and Brandle, but the breaks time is nearly over
Sambris and Vandborg attack
now Hushovd attacks
20km to go and everyone is attacking and being pulled back
Up front Verbist goes solo
behind him everyone is back in the peleton
Hushovd accelerates
He doesn't get far
10km to go and Verbist is just hanging onto his advantage, Hushovd is attacking again
Hushovd moves into the lead
Verbist tries to follow
With 7km to go he's pulled back, Hushovd is now alone
Monfort goes after him
Milka back this move all the way as Dall'Antonia follows
Now Clement attacks and Nepomnyachsniy follows him
5km left and Monfort pushes away from Dall'Antonia
Impey and Claeys follow Clement, Nepomnyachsniy has given up
Dall'Antonia get back to Monfort, Hushovd has a small advantage still
Monfort seems done as Dall'Antonia moves into second
They start to sprint as the road springs upwards
Monfort climbs fastest and he's now in with a shot
Hushovd is too strong and takes a brilliant victory
Dall'Antonia sneaks second in front of Monfort to make it a Milka 1-2
Claeys gets 4th just ahead on Impey
Craven and Clement come in at 35 seconds
Van Hummel brings in the peleton a minute behind the leaders, the time triallers still have a good chance
Kennaugh looses almost 5 minutes, disappointing for him, although he will have a chance for the stage tomorrow
