Post Danmark Rundt - Stage 3
alexkr00
Even though the last stage could be rated as the queen one this 52 km TT is going to show us who’s going to lose the fight for the GC and who will still be able to dream about it. Cornu, Ignatiev and Reus are rated as the big favorites and even though there are some good other time – trialists in this race it would be quite a surprise to see anyone that those 3 winning today

Perry punctured yesterday and lost some time which means that he was one of the early starters today. He came with a pretty good time: 1h14’31’’, and took the lead for an while
i822.photobucket.com/albums/zz142/alexkr_cofidis/PCM0063-3.jpg

Jacques – Maynes looked very strong at the first intermediate check. Even though he lost some of the advantage he had there, he was still able to take the lead from Perry for 14 seconds at the finish
i822.photobucket.com/albums/zz142/alexkr_cofidis/PCM0064.jpg

Cummings is Wiggle’s leader for this race and even though he is a good time – trialist he shouldn’t have too many hopes for today’s stage. He finished 37 seconds behind Jacques - Maynes
i822.photobucket.com/albums/zz142/alexkr_cofidis/PCM0066.jpg

The BMC rider couldn’t enjoy his lead for too long as one of the favorites came right after him. Reus was 1 minute and 26 seconds faster than Jacques – Maynes
i822.photobucket.com/albums/zz142/alexkr_cofidis/PCM0069.jpg

Nozal is one of NOS’ big hopes for this race and he didn’t disappointed them. He took the provisional second place, but at more than one minute behind Reus
i822.photobucket.com/albums/zz142/alexkr_cofidis/PCM0072-1.jpg

One of the best time – trialists in this race, Larsson, wasn’t able to beat Reus’ time either, finishing 37 seconds behind him.
i822.photobucket.com/albums/zz142/alexkr_cofidis/PCM0073-1.jpg

Vandewalle could have brought an provisional 1-2 for Jack Wolfskin but he wasn’t even close to that, finishing 31 seconds behind Larsson, 1 minute and 8 seconds behind Reus
i822.photobucket.com/albums/zz142/alexkr_cofidis/PCM0075-1.jpg

Tenorio looks to be Santander’s big hope for this race and also for this stage but he lost almost 2 minutes today to Reus
i822.photobucket.com/albums/zz142/alexkr_cofidis/PCM0077.jpg

Raisin came with quite an decent time but still he was 1 minute and 37 seconds behind Reus
i822.photobucket.com/albums/zz142/alexkr_cofidis/PCM0083-1.jpg

Veikkanen is Finland’s national time – trial champion but today’s opponents are way stronger than there and he lost 2 minutes and 11 seconds to Reus
i822.photobucket.com/albums/zz142/alexkr_cofidis/PCM0085.jpg

The next good time – trialist to start was Cornu. He came with an amazing time for this rainy conditions: 1h10’24”, which means than he was 2 minutes and 27 seconds faster than his team – mate, Reus!
i822.photobucket.com/albums/zz142/alexkr_cofidis/PCM0087-2.jpg

Zirbel had a nice time, being the fastest BMC rider, but still he was 3 minutes and 37 seconds slower than Cornu at the finish line
i822.photobucket.com/albums/zz142/alexkr_cofidis/PCM0090-1.jpg

Wiggins had a nice ride, beating Larsson by 4 seconds. Still he couldn’t beat any of the Jack Wolfskin riders, losing exactly 3 minutes to Cornu today
i822.photobucket.com/albums/zz142/alexkr_cofidis/PCM0092.jpg

Gil is one of favorites for the last stage but today he lost any chance for the GC. He was 5 minutes and 19 slower than Cornu
i822.photobucket.com/albums/zz142/alexkr_cofidis/PCM0094-1.jpg

Clement is NOS’ leader for this race but he couldn’t beat one of his team – mates, Nozal, who was just 2 seconds faster than him. He finished 3 minutes and 38 seconds behind Cornu
i822.photobucket.com/albums/zz142/alexkr_cofidis/PCM0097.jpg

Ma could have bring a good results for Lego today but he lost almost 4 minutes to Cornu
i822.photobucket.com/albums/zz142/alexkr_cofidis/PCM0100.jpg

Lingren beat Larsson last year in the Swedish TT Championships. But today he wasn’t even close to Gustav, being 43 seconds slower than him and 3 minutes and 47 seconds than Cornu
i822.photobucket.com/albums/zz142/alexkr_cofidis/PCM0103.jpg

Ignatiev was the last real threat for Cornu and his biggest opponent. But the race didn’t start too well for the 100% Me riders, being even slower than Reus at the first check point. He managed to gain some time back on Reus, but he wasn’t even close to beat Cornu’s time: 1 minute and 59 seconds slower
i822.photobucket.com/albums/zz142/alexkr_cofidis/PCM0106.jpg

Bewley is an excellent all-rounder and M&M’s leader for this race but the almost 5 minutes lost to Cornu today put him out of the GC battle
i822.photobucket.com/albums/zz142/alexkr_cofidis/PCM0109.jpg

Van Garderen is one of biggest favorites for the last stage but with 5 minutes and 44 seconds lost today he has almost no chance to even get a top 10 overall. Still one of his team – mates, Dees, had a great performance today finishing 6th
i822.photobucket.com/albums/zz142/alexkr_cofidis/PCM0112.jpg

Neither of the last 3 riders to start were real threats to Cornu, even though Trusov and Swift had nice results finishing 28th and 19th, while the leader, his team – mate, Van Stayen, showed his limits and lost over 7 minutes
i822.photobucket.com/albums/zz142/alexkr_cofidis/PCM0114.jpg

Cornu was clearly in the lead at both intermediate points, as well as the finish. The fight is still open in the last stage but almost 2 minutes could prove to be too much even for a rider like Ignatiev
