Olympia's Tour - Stage 4
roturn
i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Man%20Game%202014/OlympiasTour/mg2014_olympiatour_4_PCM0001.jpg

Next sprinter stage and after Ciolek and Holloway more riders want a stage win. Bonus seconds are very important here so the time trialists are probably happy to see them shared a bit so far.
Most obvious names when thinking about stage wins next to those two are Vantomme and Lo Cicero. But also Goss, Castaneda, Maksimov, Granjel Cabrera and so on.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Man%20Game%202014/OlympiasTour/mg2014_olympiatour_4_PCM0002.jpg

A group of 4 attacked early and was allowed to create a decent gap.
i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/bbk.png Chuzhda
i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/abc.png Fouquet
i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/vtb.png Kohler
i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/kar.png Brandao

Sure the first KoM points of the race will make this breakaway very interesting as todays KoM winner will definitely get the jersey tomorrow.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Man%20Game%202014/OlympiasTour/mg2014_olympiatour_4_PCM0007.jpg

More or less only Meiji doing the work. At times Puma sends a rider or two to support them, but actually it`s far more than 90% done by the Asian team.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Man%20Game%202014/OlympiasTour/mg2014_olympiatour_4_PCM0010.jpg

First sprint and Kohler takes it easily. The Swiss is the best sprinter in the group and distances Fouquet and Chuzhda.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Man%20Game%202014/OlympiasTour/mg2014_olympiatour_4_PCM0012.jpg

The KoM is more interesting though and Brandao obviously saved the most time at the sprint, where he couldn`t score anything. But taking the KoM jersey surely will be a nice bonus.
Chuzhda and Fouquet next over the line with no points for Kohler.
So actually exactly the other order in comparison to the sprint.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Man%20Game%202014/OlympiasTour/mg2014_olympiatour_4_PCM0018.jpg

2nd sprint and Kohler again taking it ahead of Fouquet and Chuzhda.
But with 32km to go the gap is down to 1'20 as Meiji has 4 riders at the front. They really want a stage win and more bonus seconds today.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Man%20Game%202014/OlympiasTour/mg2014_olympiatour_4_PCM0021.jpg

16km and the attempt is over. All 149 riders together in the peloton.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Man%20Game%202014/OlympiasTour/mg2014_olympiatour_4_PCM0023.jpg

Two crashes. Both can continue but it`s not sure yet if one or both are injured.

With 5km to go the sprint preperations really begun. Two 4 rider trains look the strongest at the moment as Shishelov and Steurs bring the trains for Ciolek and Vantomme to the front.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Man%20Game%202014/OlympiasTour/mg2014_olympiatour_4_PCM0030.jpg

With the addition of Meiji three sprint trains are forming now.

i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/hrc.png Lavoine

Not far behind riders like Tennant, Sonnery or Tolleson but who is missing?
Kupfernagel, Rowe, Vanoverschelde, Bennett, Serebriakov, Ahlstrand, Kvist...some are far back, others are around 4-5 rows too far behind.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Man%20Game%202014/OlympiasTour/mg2014_olympiatour_4_PCM0043.jpg

Giaux takes over and today he looks very strong again. So Ciolek and Holloway behind in the best position.
Modolo also with a good leadout while Vantomme has lost the wheel of Coquard.

Also in the mix Thorsen with a surprisingly strong day, Kreder, Granjel Cabrera and Castaneda.

All others such as Goss, Maksimov, Fonseca or Lavoine seem to struggle.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Man%20Game%202014/OlympiasTour/mg2014_olympiatour_4_PCM0048.jpg

1km and Vantomme closing the gap to Coquard again. Thorsen and Castaneda next to him with Kreder and Granjel Cabrera behind.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Man%20Game%202014/OlympiasTour/mg2014_olympiatour_4_PCM0052.jpg

The mentioned sprinters a bit behind try to go the long way to take a top10 as well.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Man%20Game%202014/OlympiasTour/mg2014_olympiatour_4_PCM0055.jpg

600m and Holloway goes right, Ciolek through the middle.
Castaneda behind them while Lo Cicero and Vantomme are a bit blocked.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Man%20Game%202014/OlympiasTour/mg2014_olympiatour_4_PCM0059.jpg

Holloway with win number 2 and Castaneda challenges Ciolek behind.
And Vantomme found the way through the front behind with Lo Cicero being behind Coquard now having a free left side.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Man%20Game%202014/OlympiasTour/mg2014_olympiatour_4_PCM0061.jpg

But it`s Holloway with the 2nd consecutive win. Huge result for him and this makes him a huge podium contender as he creates more time between him and the time trialists.

Behind him Castaneda with a strong performance being the closest to the US sprinter.

The fight for 3rd was the closest I guess with Ciolek just taking it ahead of a fast Vantomme and ahead of Lo Cicero.

Kreder with a strong 6th ahead of Maksimov, Granjel Cabrera, Thorsen and Coquard.

Goss (11th), Lavoine (15th) with no luck today.
