Olympia's Tour - Stage 7
roturn
i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Man%20Game%202014/OlympiasTour/mg2014_olympiatour_7_PCM0106.jpg

Last stage and a very interesting one. Not only the KoM might change a lot today, also the short pavement section could lead to a chaotic stage.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Man%20Game%202014/OlympiasTour/mg2014_olympiatour_7_PCM0108.jpg

A big group today. Not less than 9 riders were allowed to create a gap. One of them the actual KoM leader surely willing to defend the lead.
i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/vtb.png Kohler
i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/bbk.png Chuzhda
i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/jag.png Cleaver
i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/kar.png Nascimento
i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/mac.png Craddock
i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/esc.png Agnoli
i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/tcu.png Wilson
i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/abc.png Lampaert
i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/pbn.png Wohler

GC wise this is also interesting. Wohler and Chuzhda are not far behind with just a bit more than 1min. So the peloton shouldn`t underestimate such a big group.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Man%20Game%202014/OlympiasTour/mg2014_olympiatour_7_PCM0118.jpg

Those two are the only interested riders for the bonus seconds for obvious reasons. Wohler ahead of Chuzhda here with Kohler taking the 3rd.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Man%20Game%202014/OlympiasTour/mg2014_olympiatour_7_PCM0120.jpg

Already the first Cat.2 KoM is rewarding more points than the actual ranking leader.
Agnoli taking 10 ahead of Kohler with 8. So the Swiss keeping the lead.
Nascimento, Cleaver and Wohler also take some points.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Man%20Game%202014/OlympiasTour/mg2014_olympiatour_7_PCM0122.jpg

Wohler, Lampaert, Craddock at the next KoM. So quite a mess here and the ranking is wide open with two more to come.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Man%20Game%202014/OlympiasTour/mg2014_olympiatour_7_PCM0124.jpg

Heineken with Gaudin, Tolleson and at times Langeveld are doing the pace behind. So quite strong helpers for Holloway. 140km and a bit more than 6min and slowly going down again.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Man%20Game%202014/OlympiasTour/mg2014_olympiatour_7_PCM0127.jpg

Next Cat.2 and Lampaert winning ahead of Chuzhda, Wilson, Craddock and Agnoli. So Kohler without any points here.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Man%20Game%202014/OlympiasTour/mg2014_olympiatour_7_PCM0133.jpg

La Vie Claire taking over again. Also ASDA is seen in front. Is it for Rowe or 2nd Stannard?

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Man%20Game%202014/OlympiasTour/mg2014_olympiatour_7_PCM0135.jpg

Again Wohler and Chuzhda taking the bonus seconds at the sprint closing the GC gap even more. Craddock this time third.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Man%20Game%202014/OlympiasTour/mg2014_olympiatour_7_PCM0138.jpg

Last KoM and this time Kohler with a strong sprint taking 6 points ahead of Chuzhda and Craddock. So the Swiss is able to defend the lead and wins the KoM jersey. Chuzhda and Lampaert share the 2nd behind him.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Man%20Game%202014/OlympiasTour/mg2014_olympiatour_7_PCM0140.jpg

Same scenario at the 3rd sprint. Wohler ahead of Chuzdha with Cleaver following next.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Man%20Game%202014/OlympiasTour/mg2014_olympiatour_7_PCM0143.jpg

Here the most interesting section. The group reaches the cobbles and the peloton is only 1min behind.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Man%20Game%202014/OlympiasTour/mg2014_olympiatour_7_PCM0145.jpg

Even before the paves a group of 44 riders was dropped due to strong wind. No GC rider but some sprinters such as Bennett, Fonseca, Vanoverschelde, Serebriakov or prologue winner Ford.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Man%20Game%202014/OlympiasTour/mg2014_olympiatour_7_PCM0151.jpg

40km left and the peloton more or less together over the paves. ASDA taking over now eventually willing to exhaust Holloway.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Man%20Game%202014/OlympiasTour/mg2014_olympiatour_7_PCM0153.jpg

The group though did split a lot into 4 groups.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Man%20Game%202014/OlympiasTour/mg2014_olympiatour_7_PCM0155.jpg

i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/esc.png Agnoli goes solo with 27km as i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/vtb.png Kohler can`t follow. The Swiss was in a lot of groups here and seems to have tired legs.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Man%20Game%202014/OlympiasTour/mg2014_olympiatour_7_PCM0158.jpg

Meiji, Vontobel and TomTom at the front of the peloton. The pace is not the highest at the moment, so the breakaway riders still have a gap.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Man%20Game%202014/OlympiasTour/mg2014_olympiatour_7_PCM0161.jpg

Only Agnoli and Kohler are still in front but were able to extend their gap to almost 2min.
i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/ttt.png Elijzen decides to attack with 18km to go and i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/tas.png Stannard follows. Huge pressure on Holloway as 1s would be enough for Stannard.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Man%20Game%202014/OlympiasTour/mg2014_olympiatour_7_PCM0165.jpg

Good news for Heineken that Meiji is catching them immediately. But surely he will try again.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Man%20Game%202014/OlympiasTour/mg2014_olympiatour_7_PCM0167.jpg

Or actually someone else will. This also explains Meiji`s work there.
i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/mei.png Lo Cicero obviously not trusting his sprint chances to get a stage win. So he decides to attack instead to climb in the GC.

But again the teams chasing are quite weird ones. Poulhies for Vontobel and Dekkers for Allianz! So the sprinter is caught soon again.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Man%20Game%202014/OlympiasTour/mg2014_olympiatour_7_PCM0170.jpg

i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/ttt.png Elijzen with the next attempt.
This time followed by a couple of riders:
i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/mei.png Lo Cicero
i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/tas.png Stannard
i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/cal.png Ligthart
i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/ozc.png Olman
i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/kar.png Barth

No GC rider wants to lose a spot here. But it`s actually weird to see Ligthard going with this group which would cost them the GC lead.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Man%20Game%202014/OlympiasTour/mg2014_olympiatour_7_PCM0176.jpg

But again all got caught again and the next attacks. 7km onl left and the duo in front still with a 2min gap as all those attacks not really speed up behind. Actually it`s quite slow to be honest and so also the 44 dropped riders are able to make it back.

The newest attackers are:
i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/jag.png Tennant
i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/kar.png Barth
i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/mei.png Lo Cicero
with
i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/tas.png Stannard
i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/ttt.png Elijzen
i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/ozc.png Olman
i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/cal.png Ligthart
also attacking a bit later.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Man%20Game%202014/OlympiasTour/mg2014_olympiatour_7_PCM0183.jpg

With 3km to go the duo seems to take todays stage as the gap is still pretty fine.
Behind all but Elijzen, Stannard, Barth and Lo Cicero are caught, while those are still having a small gap. But Poulhies and Dekkers still chasing for some weird reason.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Man%20Game%202014/OlympiasTour/mg2014_olympiatour_7_PCM0185.jpg

All this weirdness causes a strange sprint without an preperation.
And look to the front two! They lost almost all their advantage as they are running out of energy.
A bit behind them Elijzen still having a gap while Lo Cicero and Barth also have a gap to the peloton where Holloway, Ciolek, Vantomme, Maksimov, Granjel Cabrera, Vanoverschelde, Thorsen, Serebriakov, Castaneda, Lavoine, Rowe or Goss are all within the top20 spots.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Man%20Game%202014/OlympiasTour/mg2014_olympiatour_7_PCM0195.jpg

Kohler in the lead but actually Lo Cicero is already reaching them and so we will have no breakaway success in this race.
From behind Holloway and Maksimov look strongest but also Ayoune and Dekkers are still within reach.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Man%20Game%202014/OlympiasTour/mg2014_olympiatour_7_PCM0199.jpg

Lo Cicero or Holloway or Maksimov seems to be the question.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Man%20Game%202014/OlympiasTour/mg2014_olympiatour_7_PCM0201.jpg

Ciolek, Vantomme, Serebriakov etc. all beaten. No energy left for those it seems.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Man%20Game%202014/OlympiasTour/mg2014_olympiatour_7_PCM0205.jpg

Pure dominance! 4 stage wins and the GC for Holloway in his best ever career race I think. On the last meters he passed Lo Cicero, who finished 2nd and this way can also improve a bit in the GC to climb into the top10.
Maksimov as 3rd today ahead of a strong Ayoune.
Goss, Vantomme, Dekkers, Serebriakov and Ciolek next ahead of Lavoine to complete the top10.

What a weird last stage here.
