It's a flat sprinter's stage today and the favourites are Boonen and Petacchi, with the fight for 3rd place expected to be between Bennati and Cavendish. Although if Bos can make it to the finish in the pack then he has a great sprint.

But first they must catch the breakaway and it contains 10 riders today. They are , Pill (Carlsberg), Mangel (AG2R), Sieberg (Fed-Ex), Guesdon (Saturn), Elijzen (France TV), Lagutin (FloGas), Ingels (Belgium), Verbist (Domina), Cummings (Discovery), Van Dulmen (Holland).

Elijzen won the first sprint ahead of Sieberg and Piil. Lagutin took the second ahead of Sieberg and Piil. Sieberg took the third ahead of Mangel and Lagutin.

The break was caught with 16kms to the finish so a bunch sprint was on.

We have Weylandt leading-out Boonen on the near side. Theo Bos has managed to make it to the finish and is in the wheel of Backstedt. Förster is in Bos' wheel and Simón is in Förster's wheel. Furlan is leading out Bennati and Petacchi who has Van Heerden on his wheel. Cavendish has managed to grab absolutley no-one's wheel but it close to Van Heerden.

After a great lead-out by Weylandt, boonen wins easily and Bos managed 2nd!!! Almost as suprising as that Simón managed to round off the podium. Petacchi, Bennati and Cavendish started far too far back.
