We are still in Porto Vecchio for a 7.9km prologue. Halfway through he trailed Ma by 1 second, and at the finish he ... trailed Ma by second!

But now the wind has gone right up to 46/47 km/h. This is bad timing for some of the GC contenders out on course: i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/met.png Popovych (+26 seconds), i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/kap.png Pozzovivo (+28 seconds), i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/rep.png Kashechkin (+35 seconds) and also i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/csc.png Abal.

He would have hoped to have gone quite highly today, but CSC-Orbea's leader loses 21 seconds, slower than both teammates Plaza and Lloret.

Maybe it was just a bad ride by Abal though, as 3 others all closely follow him and do better.

Clearly the wind has disadvantaged them - but Brajkovic and Intxausti do manage to be the highest placed team leaders, beating Duarte - albeit both are slower than Plaza.

There's also no more good time triallists left either, and Haijun Ma is confirmed as the stage winner and new race leader, after previous race leader Corioni finishes in the 4th slowest time, +1'19.

So Haijun Ma rode in the best conditions, and he capitalised with a narrow 1 second stage win over Kai Reus. Plaza aside, Brajkovic is the best placed climber 12 seconds down. He is more than a stage win bonus ahead of some rivals, but many others are closer - whoever wins the stage tomorrow is sure to have a great shout of winning the race outright.

The best young rider on today's stage was Zmorka but since he lost time yesterday, it is the next best i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/mag.png Hofer who gets the U25 jersey.
