Circulo de Juarez - Stage 3
cio93
i1050.photobucket.com/albums/s408/Cio1993/Juarez/Stage3_zpsa2b0c7b4.jpg

Today's break grows by one rider as i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/afr.png Seibeb tries his luck for the second time and is joined by i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/tcu.png Kilun, i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/wwr.png Devine and i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/esc.png Edmondson.
Certainly a good move if he takes some points and seconds along the way!
Additionally, we have strong gusts of wind today and a long 80k straight run-in to the finish on possible crosswinds.

i1050.photobucket.com/albums/s408/Cio1993/Juarez/Stage%203/PCM0001_zps56081db8.jpg

The first KoM goes to i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/esc.png Edmondson though, but i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/afr.png Seibeb takes second ahead of i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/wwr.png Devine.
Cat. 4 i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/esc.png Edmondson i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/afr.png Seibeb i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/wwr.png Devine

i1050.photobucket.com/albums/s408/Cio1993/Juarez/Stage%203/PCM0002_zpsa2853d4c.jpg

We reverse the order as i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/wwr.png Devine takes the sprint ahead of i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/afr.png Seibeb and i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/esc.png Edmondson as the gap goes out to more than 5 minutes.
Sprint i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/wwr.png Devine i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/afr.png Seibeb i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/esc.png Edmondson

i1050.photobucket.com/albums/s408/Cio1993/Juarez/Stage%203/PCM0003_zps3c5a12e2.jpg

The peloton takes the only major corners today and starts the crosswind-heavy last two hours of racing. Will the chase split up the field?

i1050.photobucket.com/albums/s408/Cio1993/Juarez/Stage%203/PCM0004_zps656bad83.jpg

The second categorized climb is not even a false flat, but the organizers were fierce in keeping 4 checkpoints per day and so i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/wwr.png Devine takes another of them with i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/afr.png Seibeb in his usual second place and i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/tcu.png Kilun finally getting something out of this as well.
Cat. 4 i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/wwr.png Devine i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/afr.png Seibeb i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/tcu.png Kilun

i1050.photobucket.com/albums/s408/Cio1993/Juarez/Stage%203/PCM0005_zps006f1954.jpg

The American is on a spree as he takes the second sprint as well in a closer fight with i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/esc.png Edmondson and i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/afr.png Seibeb.
Sprint i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/wwr.png Devine i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/esc.png Edmondson i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/afr.png Seibeb

i1050.photobucket.com/albums/s408/Cio1993/Juarez/Stage%203/PCM0006_zps50439316.jpg

20 kilometres to go and the bunch is indeed strung out, and we do get tiny gaps between a few riders.
No major sprinters struggle, but some earlier breakaway riders in i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/hrc.png van Poppel (5th GC), i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/lpu.png Cerny (6th GC), i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/lpu.png Senni (9th GC) and i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/wwr.png Bajadali (10th GC).

i1050.photobucket.com/albums/s408/Cio1993/Juarez/Stage%203/PCM0007_zps7dd96013.jpg
i1050.photobucket.com/albums/s408/Cio1993/Juarez/Stage%203/PCM0008_zpsbc431dce.jpg

The heavy fights at the front of the peloton to not be in the wind mean there is again no chance for the break, and we get our usual sprint trains.

i1050.photobucket.com/albums/s408/Cio1993/Juarez/Stage%203/PCM0009_zps61633d1c.jpg

With the sprint about to start we put together a quick overview.

i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/tas.png Meenhorst
i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/azt.png Magallanesi439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/tas.png Rowei439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/boi.png Hawkins
i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/azt.png Haedoi439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/boi.png Drapac

i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/rse.png Sutton
i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/alp.png Forero

i1050.photobucket.com/albums/s408/Cio1993/Juarez/Stage%203/PCM0010_zps293f93c5.jpg

The last leadouts leave their saddle as we are nearly tied, although BoI struggle to keep the speed.

i1050.photobucket.com/albums/s408/Cio1993/Juarez/Stage%203/PCM0011_zps8e372919.jpg

The flamme rouge arrives and, surprise, i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/tas.png Rowe leads! i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/azt.png Farrar has some i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/azt.png Haedo slipstream left again with i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/rse.png Matthews tucked in behind while i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/boi.png Drapac is out of it.
i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/bon.png Maranelli ups his game today and is in the "Rasmussen position", while said winner of yesterday chose the wrong wheel today.

i1050.photobucket.com/albums/s408/Cio1993/Juarez/Stage%203/PCM0012_zps2edc1abc.jpg

Did I say i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/boi.png Drapac is out of it? Well the left side is faster here than the right one with i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/tas.png Rowe holding on to his lead for now, but the two Aussies are the fastest.
i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/azt.png Farrar can't even accelerate past i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/tas.png Meenhorst while i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/bon.png Manarelli is still waiting to punch.

i1050.photobucket.com/albums/s408/Cio1993/Juarez/Stage%203/PCM0013_zps3d30d9a4.jpg

And as I say it he does. It was time though as i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/tas.png Rowe fades from his effort and i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/rse.png Matthews wants that stage win.

i1050.photobucket.com/albums/s408/Cio1993/Juarez/Stage%203/PCM0014_zps4cd50cb0.jpg

But he will have to settle for a bigger GC lead as i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/bon.png Manarelli rises from anonymity and wins the stage!
i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/tas.png Rowe even loses the third place to i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/boi.png Drapac in the end.

i1050.photobucket.com/albums/s408/Cio1993/Juarez/Stage%203/PCM0015_zps387235ca.jpg

Despite the continued 'motivation' by their managers, i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/lpu.png Peeters and i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/alp.png Forero disappoint once more even outside of the Top 10, and i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys14/onc.png Guillen doesn't even make this finish shot.

i1050.photobucket.com/albums/s408/Cio1993/Juarez/Stage%203/PCM0016_zpsf8dfcf2b.jpg

In the end, no splits happened and there were only a few riders detached on tiredness. Luck for today's breakaway riders as they were among the last 6 s.t. riders.
