The 3 man break today consisted of: Wetterhall, Sambris & Mazur.

With little competition from the others in the break Sambris would ensure he would leave with the KOM title here.



Schoonbroodt and Anza would battle out the minor KOM points, sprinting out of the peloton. They would both finish on the podium in the KOM competition.


7 KM to go.

Sambris is '40 ahead of the peloton and going strong as groups continue to break off the rear of the peloton.

Here we see the peloton reduced to 57 riders as the white jersey, McEvoy, is dropped. Fortunately for him all of the other white jersey contenders would also be dropped come the finish.


3 KM to go.

Sambris is still going strong and may well hold off the peloton, but it will be a close one.


The sprint is one with one rider still ahead.

Sambris would still lead, with a decent advantage, going into the last 200 meters. However, the break would not win this one.

So close to the finish
Corti takes the lead on the road .....



.... But Richeze comes through in the dying meters to claim the win for the home team. Corti and Kump round out the podium on the last stage.

No dramatic final stage win from Ignatiev means Bibby wins the Bayern Rundfahrt. All the jerseys stay in the same hands as after stage 4, Metinvest-Emirates drop out of the top 3 in the team standings as too many of their riders were dropped today. No changes in the top 15.
