We start up in the capital of Estonia and travel about 200 kilometres south to the city of Viljandi. The sprinters are lined up and ready to go.
First three riders that escape are Trusov, Hoelgaard and Mottin. Surprisingly enough that very first move sticks. They do get companionship from Grychenko of Metinvest. We have a break of four.
Trusov is by far the best sprinter in the group and takes both points sprints. You have to wonder what he is doing there, eventhough Tinkoff have a very strong train for Leonid Krasnov here, it's still surprising to see Trusov fighting for intermediates.
About halfway through with just over 100 to go the advantage has peaked is now at 7'23. Rothaus and Evian taking charge. They two top-candidates here in Vantomme and Napolitano.
The break is putting in a good display here though. With 30 kilometres left the advantage has only come down five minutes the last 70 kilometres as it stands at 2'23.
At the final circuit we have KoM prime which Grychenko takes and with it the KoM jersey. He looks strong the Ukrainian and with a little above two laps to go at 16 kilometres from the end he puts in a strong turn and pulls away from the three others.
13.3 kilometres to go and Rothaus is firing on all cylinders, they are 1'15 behind Grychenko who has left his fellow breakaway riders for good.
A thing like that is always a tough one and as we enter the final lap with 7 kilometres to go it's all back together.
Evian opens up the very same place where Grychenko got away. Sonnery leading out Napolitano, Cavendish, Avelino, Castaneda, Vantomme and Vaitkus!
1.100 metres and Avelino charges into the lead! Castaneda is behind him while Cavendish could be getting boxed in by this move.
But the Brit makes a swift move now!
Him and Castaneda is coming up alongside Avelino!
300 metres to go and Cavendish has taken the lead by the skin of his teeth! Napolitano and Cavendish's own team-mate Vaitkus are coming up fast!
Napolitano takes it and the yellow jersey. Cavendish is second ahead of Vantomme, while Vaitkus who might had the highest top speed in this sprint finishes fourth.
