Turgot crashes solitarily with 5 KM to go the breakaway still lead over the peloton by '45. The peloton continues to break up in number as more and more teams pile on the pressure.

Privatbank - Nemiroff push on the pace so hard that 6 riders, including Greipel, break away from the rest of the peloton with 4 KM to go. They do slow up though and get absorbed by the rest of the peloton, which is down to around 80 riders.

Popkov is the furthest ahead in the race, '10 ahead of the other breakaway riders. It will be touch and go whether he will be caught, however, as he has '20 over the peloton.
