Second PCT/CT Rankings Update

A lot has changed since the last update. PCT teams have now ridden an average of 39 race days, while CT teams are on an average of 31.

PCT

La Vie Claire were leading the way previously, before Quickstep overtook them. They both remain in the Top 4, but the Top 2 is now made up of two of last year's relegated teams.

Venchi - Ferranti have already won 2 stage races and 3 classics this season and they have stormed to the top spot. Meanwhile

Heineken's big Olympia Tour with Holloway was enough to take them past the 1000 point mark too. There is a vast difference in the race days used of the top two though: 25 for Venchi, 48 for Heineken - almost double!

Bacardi currently hold the last promotion place but the rest of the Top 10 are all going strong so far with their PPrD values.

Gazelle have now regained their position as best of last year's CT teams, but Karcher aren't too far behind.

Kazzinc have recovered from a slow start to a midtable position, while

Allianz have also made good progress.

In the relegation zone as it stands are Mobil, Kappa, Metinvest, Belarusbank and Compal. The last two inparticular are struggling to bring in many ranking points.

The projected standings really just go to highlight the insane start Venchi have had.

Meiji move into the promotion places here, while

Magna also leap up, having raced the least so far. 4 of the 5 relegation zone teams remain the same, but dropping down in place of Metinvest are

Hornbach.

Hassen ben Nasser tops the individual standings, after following up his Tour of South Africa win with solid points scoring performances elsewhere. But with Van Stayen leading the Venchi charge, how long can he stay there?

After Ben Nasser, puncheurs Skujins, Di Maggio, and Froome are also in the Top 10. Marquez is the top GC rider in the standings, while Holloway has sprinted up to 5th.

Having done well at both San Luis and Langkawi in the CT double header,

Team Nutresa stormed to the top of the standings, and they did enough in Ireland to hold off previous leaders

In n Out.

Vontobel keep 3rd having scored strongly in the C1 Olympia's Tour as well as at Seskin Classic, but doing even better at both were

Asda-Savers. It puts the British squad in 4th, while TomTom complete the promotion spots.

Bonsucro, Siam Cement and Once-Eroski have all moved up since the last update, but Eddie Stobart have slipped down once their breakaway luck ran out.

Euskaltel hadnt raced last time and arew now 17th, ahead of teams like Maloja and Risa who really cannot be happy with how their season has gone so far. At the bottom though, are

Going well so far. In a promotion place, just outside on pprd but Karcher and Meiji are unlikely to keep that rate up - whereas with Reus having barely raced we look good and Gautier is flying so it's doable. Still maintain we will be 6th though

I only hope for a top 10, but if Haussler can begin to perform anything is possible. Plus, points on the board > spare race days anytime.

Ben Nasser has been amazing so far! Incredible results, carrying the team into a top half position. Now he'll start racing a bit less, so others need to step up.

Venchi's PpRD is insane at 42. Surely they can't not get promoted now, with so many points and only 1/7 of racedays used.

I actually think my team has been borderline underperforming. Also, I've got a lot of potential race winners, so racedays aren't a problem. One of, Zaini, Efimkin, Lo Cicero, Napolitiano or Ji are racing in every race of ours this year.

Im not sure we will actually finish in 3rd like the Pprd says, but I'd still like to move into a promotion spot.

Up to 2nd is a good showing for us. Finishing there would be fine with me. So would finishing 4th, as suggested by the PPRD.

That said, we've survived dead weight races in South Africa and Ukraine. Also, Brajkovic hasn't yet started racing. Trentino is his first race. I think I have cause to be more optimistic that 4th.

Don't quite think my team can keep up 17 PPRD, but I think we'll find ourselves fighting for a top half spot, which is fine by me.

Venchi's PPRD are absurd, even given the small sample size.

This is going very well.

We currently have a margin of more than six PPrD before dropping out of our top 15 goal. Monfort, Nuyens, Steegmans, Oss and Westra are all doing some decent scoring. Hope they can keep this form.

So far, it has been quite good for Oz. Projected standings 11th, that's where i expected us to be. Our most important races are yet to come, so i'm fine. Ukraine could have went slightly better, but De Panne worked out better than expected... Guess much will depend on how Bobridge will do in this HC-races. If he avoids any trouble, we can hold on to this Top-10 area.

Funny to see us that high in Europe. Where he had been barely point scoring the seasons before. Hope this will keep up, given that Czech Republic and Britain will be our crucial races this year

Great position in the rankings for Siam Cement, but I fear it can only go down from here on. I'd be happy to have over 1000 points at the end of the season.
Great to see that we are the best CT team in the Asia Tour rankings. Rodrigues got a lot of points in Malaysia, Sarawut's success right at the beginning of the season adds to that.
