As announced on twitter yesterday, PCM.daily will soon launch it's own stage database.
Before we launch it, we would like to hear what you think a stage database should be like. It is pretty much done and is a bit like the shirt database, but if some good suggestions pop up, I'll be glad to change the code.
As a little teaser, here's a screenshot of the database as it looks now:

This is an awesome idea. So helpful.
That screen looks really good, will I be able to sort by country, type of stage, and maybe climbs? Like, choose a filter so it's only stages with Angliru?

I'm glad you like it.
The filter by climbs is a nice idea. I'll put that on my list of possible improvements.
These are the current filter options, however a terrain filter will be added too:

At the moment you can sort by creator, year, country, race, race type, season, race class I think as also some combinations. There might be changes or not. Time will tell. |

Love it. Will the database viewer be making a comeback in future? |

Amazing, looks great
Btw, on the filter options, is it possible to 'mix' two filters? For example, search for 1.1 races which happen in Germany?
Also, will there be an option to download the whole race (in case of stage races)?
And lastly, the profile of the stage is only an image file, right? (which would mean it's not possible to change the climb which is being displayed in the 'detailed info' ). If yes, will there be an option for the stage 'sender' to add info about the climbs (maybe in text, with kms and avg %)?

No
As Mike said, 'It was outdated and difficult to update. No point in keeping it.'

All filters can be combined with a specific season, but combinations such as 1.1 races in Germany are not supported in the current version, whereas a combination of races from Germany in the 2011 season is possible.
The profile is an image, yes. We are investigating the possibility to read the profile directly from the stage file, but this is not possible yet.
I like the idea of describing climbs. Maybe I'll take a look at it when I've finished the things I'm currently working on. |

As many as possible I guess.

In the files you see in the preview I have added all the ztcs files as well. So you can edit it in the editor and change the route for example.
But this is up to the stage makers. Some might have a problem as they did all the work and others might claim their stages with just a tiny change. |

A lot, hopefully. Like the shirt database, users will be able to upload their stages. |

We might make it mandatory to upload the .zcts files in order to make it possible to convert the stages to newer versions of the game (and correct bugs) even if the stage makers has left. |
