More PCM12 Info from Nordic Games Supply
Pro Cycling Manager 2012

The Nordic supplier of the Pro Cycling Manager games have added a page to their website for PCM12, confirming details for the game that is said to be released on the 29th June.

It contains the details that will presumably be shown on the back of the cover, and many of it is information that we have already learnt will be involved with the game.

For the career mode, more teams and races are included to accomodate the new division added to the game, while work has been done on a season planner, young riders and training camps that allow you to preview major Grand Tour stages.

In the 3D mode, the game interface has been redesigned and improvement have been made to the AI - while it appears that it will now be possible to play National Championships outside of Career mode.

CAREER

- Season Planner: Tool to give manager an overview of race registrations for his riders so that he can plan better.

-50 races, solely for Continental Pro and Continental teams, have been added to the race calendar.

-More depth to race calendar with 3 divisions and participation rules which are based on reality.

-80 teams in game database (including 6 Scandinavian teams).

-Training camps: reconnoitring of major stages on grand tours; team time-trial; possibility to add staff (doctor, physio, trainer) for greater effectiveness.

-Young riders: are generated in a more realistic manner. It is now possible to find riders aged between 18 - 21 with attributes which will allow them to achieve significant results during their first year as a pro.

RACE

-3D race interface fully reworked.

-Addition of rider stats and information during a race.

-Improvements to race AI.
More attacks by race favourites from far out.
Better energy management of AI teams.
Improved positioning of team leaders within the peloton.
Fewer riders in morning breakaways in the early stages of a tour.
All AI riders have a reason to cooperate/not cooperate regarding breakaways. Puts greater pressure on team leaders

-National championships (played outside Career mode)

3D

-New objects: manor houses, houses, farm machinery,, castle, . . .> + chalets

-Variety of different enclosures: fences, hedges, ramparts, . . .

-New equipment

MULTIPLAYER

-New multiplayer game mode (in parallel to existing "team" multiplayer mode).

Sorry but this list is not up-to-date and you should not rely on this.

So, are you saying that this is untrue or simply not the whole story?
#3 | superider2010 on 13. April 2012 14:03
when they'll say what is the new multiplayer mode?
they said it won't be a pro rider mode
be a pro mode it would be just offline, grow your created rider
but online could be 1 rider mode, not created, just choosing a rider from a team
i hope to have golden words

I hope that there aren't more attacks from far out. Mid stage breaks already dominate.

Yay, more realistic young riders. Smile

All the changes look good, but it's not looking like the game will provide a fully immersive management experience that I'd really like to see in this game. I spend 90% of my PCM time playing the races/stages and only 10% on the management. I'd rather it be the other way around!

PCM should look towards emulating Football Manager, not solitare.

On reflection, all the additions to the 'Career' side of things just seem to be providing what the PCM.daily has been providing for years with the excellent databases and season planners - more riders, more races and a way to plan your season in-game. All these are positive changes but seem more like tweaks to the PCM2011 rather than any great changes to the management side. Totally agree that PCM should be moving towards Football Manager, providing much more in-depth training, scouting and tactical game options.

@CrueTrue : sorry for the late reply. those two points will not be in the game:
-Training camps: possibility to add staff (doctor, physio, trainer) for greater effectiveness.
-Addition of rider stats and information during a race.

forgot this one (should not be in the game) :
-National championships (played outside Career mode)

#12 The national championships was stated, and you can see rider stats in race already.
